On the way to He Mingshan.

Heming in Dayi County, Sichuan Province is the birthplace of Taoism in China. It is also called Guiming Mountain in yue lai zhen, Heming Township, Dayi County. The mountain looks like a crane, hence its name. According to legend, Zhang Daoling once became a monk and preached here in the Eastern Han Dynasty, and established Taoism, a local religion in China.

Religion is a cultural phenomenon in the development of human society to a certain historical stage, which belongs to a special social ideology. The main popular religions in the world today are Christianity, Islam, Buddhism and Hinduism. As the only local religion in China, Taoism has declined slightly in modern society, and even seems out of tune with the world. Lu Xun once said that "China's culture is rooted in Taoism". During thousands of years of historical development, Taoism has experienced ups and downs, silently inheriting the traditional culture of China. There are different opinions about the origin of Taoism. The Yellow Emperor's question about Guangchengzi marked the formal formation of Taoist culture with a history of more than 4,000 years. For example, the chronology currently used by Taoism is calculated from the era of the Yellow Emperor (2697 BC). Taoism takes "Tao" as its highest belief. "Tao" gives birth to heaven and earth invisibly, and heaven and earth are the origin of all things in the universe. Taoism respects Laozi as the ancestor, Xuanyuan Huangdi as the ancestor, and Tao Te Ching as the classic. Taoism inherited the ideas of Huang and Lao Taoism and developed on the basis of primitive worship of ghosts and gods. Liu Xie, a A Liang in the Southern Dynasties, said in On Eliminating Confusion that Taoism is "labeling Laozi, depicting immortals and attacking Zhang Ling." It can be seen that the real founder of Taoism is Zhang Ling.

In the Taoist immortal system, Sanqing (Shangqing Lingbao Tianzun, Taiqing Moral Tianzun, Qing Yu Yuanshi Tianzun) headed by Yuanshi Tianzun is the highest god in Taoism, followed by the Jade Emperor and the "Four Emperors" who assisted them. Zhang Daoling, Shi Tian, Ge Xuan, Xu Xun and Handcuffs are known as the "Four Shi Tian". Expanding knowledge: Four famous Taoist mountains in China: Wudang Mountain in Hubei, Qingcheng Mountain in Sichuan, Yun Qi in Anhui and Longhu Mountain in Jiangxi. Three major religions in the world: Christianity (Jesus), Islam (Muhammad) and Buddhism (Sakyamuni). Avenue inaction: Taoism's "Avenue inaction" talks about following the laws of nature and letting things develop naturally. "Unintentional" means that you won't break the law for inner desire and greed. In short, when we deal with things, the first thing we think of is not to satisfy our inner greed and desire, but to find the law between things, follow the law, do things that conform to the law, and let things develop naturally according to the law. Many times, although I understand this simple and universal truth, I don't know how to do it in my life.

Good as water: the best people are like water.

Water is good at nourishing everything without competing with it, staying in places that people don't like, so it is closest to the Tao. The best people are good at choosing their own living places, being calm and unfathomable, being sincere, friendly and selfless to others, being good at keeping promises, being good at streamlining administration, being good at governing the country, giving full play to their strengths and seizing opportunities in their actions. The best people do what they do because they have indisputable virtues, so they have no mistakes and no complaints.

According to historical records, the earliest Taoist temple in heming was the Shangqing Palace, which was built by the founder of Zhang Daoling. After several generations of expansion, by the time of the Republic of China, there were hundreds of temples in Shangqing, Shi Tian, Ziyang, Yingxian and Wenchang. During the Cultural Revolution, the Taoist temple in Hemingshan was severely damaged, and 1987 was reopened as a place for religious activities. At present, Yingxian Pavilion, Yanxiang Pavilion, Doulao Hall, Sansheng Palace and Shitian Hall have been renovated. Yingxian Pavilion is the gate of Hemingshan Taoist Temple, with three floors up and down. After Yingxian Pavilion is the view of Xiang Yan, which rises from the stage, with towering old trees and numerous inscriptions on both sides. Above the Xiang Yan Temple is the Doulao Temple, with ancillary buildings connected to the main hall on both sides. Behind Doulao Temple is Cihang Hall, and then Sansheng Palace. Sansheng Palace was donated by the Hong Kong Feiyandong Buddhism and Taoism Society, and it is dedicated to Tai Shang Lao Jun, Lv Chunyang and Zhang Sanfeng. There is a Cooper (over 700 years old) outside the temple, which is said to have been planted by Zhang Sanfeng in the Ming Dynasty. About 100 meters behind Sansheng Palace, Shi Tian Temple was donated by local Mr. Li Yaoheng. This temple is dedicated to the statue of Shi Tian's ancestor Zhang Daoling. On the walls on both sides are pictures of Zhang Daoling from birth to becoming a monk, becoming enlightened and driving a crane to become immortal.
