Zhangqian. Xi is the starting point of the Silk Road. When it comes to the Belt and Road Initiative, we have to mention Zhang Qian's contribution in opening up the western regions from Chang 'an in the Western Han Dynasty. In 2003, the statue of Zhang Qian's mission to the Western Regions was erected on the central island of Waiban Road, Yuxiangmen, Xi City.
