Extended data:

Loudi was originally a place where ethnic minorities lived together. According to legend, the ancestors were descendants of Pangu, belonging to Sanmiao Jiuli Group, and came from Zhuan Xu, one of the five emperors. In the long historical period, our ancestors fought fiercely with Huaxia and Dongyi in the Yellow River valley, but they all failed in the end, and most of them were forced to move south.

At present, many ethnic minorities in Guizhou, Yunnan and other places are descendants of immigrants in this area, and the rest have been assimilated by the Han people in the Central Plains (especially Jiangxi people) who have been moving southward since the Western Han Dynasty, forming a national pattern in which the Han people in Loudi account for 99.9% today. ? Loudi was a corner of Jingzhou in Xia, Shang and Zhou Dynasties, and belonged to Chu in the Warring States Period.

After Qin unified China, Loudi was formally incorporated into the territory of Qin, a feudal multi-ethnic centralized state, and was subordinate to Changsha County, becoming an inseparable part of China.

But interestingly, there are two administrative states in the territory, that is, most of the flat land in the southeast was naturalized by Qin, while there are still residents in the northwest who are called "Meishan people" because they are "like monks, constantly tattooed and have cities for farming". Its grass-roots organization is very different from the pavilions, Li and Shi in Qin dynasty, and it is called cave dwelling.

According to legend, there are ten caves, the leaders of which are called "Left Leader", "Right Leader" or "Cave Leader" and "Cave Leader". Dong people have surnames such as Fu, Su, Xiang, Lan, Qing, Zhao and Bu, as well as Chen, Zou, Liu and Luo who moved to Meishan to escape the war disaster. They are not under the management of Qin, they are like an independent kingdom.

And this situation lasted until the fifth year of Xining in the Northern Song Dynasty (A.D. 1072). In this process, on the one hand, the feudal rulers of the past dynasties adopted a blockade policy against Meishan area, closed the border and prohibited the exchanges between Han and Yao, on the other hand, they frequently rose up and conquered. In the first year of Taiping Xingguo (AD 976), Emperor Taizong of Ning sent troops to besiege Meishan and captured thousands of people. The following year, soldiers were mobilized to suppress, and 20,000 people were captured and beheaded.

However, "Meishan people" fought back and never gave in. Song Renzong began to adopt a soft policy towards Meishan people. In the seventh year (AD 1047), Liu, the secretariat of Tanzhou, sent people to Meishan to recruit more than 400 people. In the last year of Jiayou (A.D. 1063), Jason, the magistrate of Yiyang, suggested to the court that Meishan should be treated and developed, and the prohibition that villagers were not allowed to farm the land bordering Yiyang should be lifted.

In the third year of Xining (A.D. 1070), Fan, the deputy envoy of Hunan transshipment, invited the court to be a "Meishan person" and "should be a vassal county". After Cai Yu was appointed as the deputy envoy of Hunan, he summoned the imperial court and advocated that "Meishan people" should be scholars, dictate their fields, borrow a little help, make their careers lively, build cities and set officials, and make them know politics and have skills. "

Song Shenzong took the liegeman's advice and sent messengers to the mountains to make peace. In this year 1 1 month, Meishan officially joined the Central Dynasty of the Northern Song Dynasty. Born in Song Dynasty, there are 14809 households, 19089 male (adult male), with 260436 mu of land and two cities in Meishan. Shangyu is "Xinhua", which means "Wang Hua's new land"; Xiayi means "Anhua", which means "humanization". ?

Xinhua County became the earliest established county in Loudi, belonging to Shaoyang County in the Song Dynasty, Baoqing Road in the Yuan Dynasty and Baoqing Prefecture in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. Other counties and cities in Loudi and Shuangfeng belonged to Xiangnan County of Changsha County in Qin Dynasty and Xiangxiang County for a long time after Han Dynasty.

Lianyuan area belongs to Xiangnan, Liandao, Xiangxiang and Zhaoling counties from the Qin Dynasty to the Eastern Jin Dynasty. After the Northern Song Dynasty, all its areas belonged to Xiangxiang, Shaoyang, Anhua and Xinhua counties for a long time. Louxing District has been under the jurisdiction of Xiangxiang since the Han Dynasty. Lengshuijiang area belonged to "Meishan Man" before the Song Dynasty and to Xinhua County for a long time after the Song Dynasty. ?

1September 1977, the State Council approved the establishment of Lianyuan district (1February 1982 was renamed Loudi district,1September 19991October was changed to Loudi prefecture-level city). Since then, Loudi has risen in the middle of Hunan, radiating Sanxiang and starting a new historical era.
