Where is Renyi Hutong?

Renyi Hutong in Jianchangying West Street, Qian 'an City, Hebei Province comes from Renyi. This hutong is called Renyi Hutong, which is located south of Daximenli Road in Jianchangying. This hutong is about 50 meters long and 1. 1 meter wide. It is paved with two stones with different lengths, which avoids the muddy corridor in rainy and snowy days. Because the hutong is narrow, one person can bear the load at ordinary times, if two people can only pass sideways.

Jianchangying is a strategic town to guard the cold exit. Lengkouguan is an important pass of Zhen Ji Town, the Great Wall of Ming Dynasty, which is located 32km northeast of Qian 'an City, Hebei Province. In the Ming Dynasty, it was a passage for the three guards of Mongolia to pay tribute to Beijing, and it was also an important place for transportation and military affairs. After the founding of the Qing Dynasty, the Great Wall was unified inside and outside, and Jianchangying became increasingly prosperous as a commercial center because it was a north-south transportation hub. According to relevant historical records, Jianchangying is another important transportation hub in eastern Hebei, except Shanhaiguan, and its commercial activities reached its peak from the middle of Qing Dynasty to the beginning of the Anti-Japanese War. From the founding of New China to the early days of reform and opening up, it was an important agricultural and sideline products fair around. Since ancient times, there has been a saying that "dissatisfied Kaiping City cannot be defeated by Jianchang Camp". It is said that the West Street of Jianchangying was not connected with Jishi Street in the south. After this Renyi Hutong, the two streets are connected.

Although this alley is narrow, it has a legendary story. According to legend, during the Ming Dynasty, there were two Jianchang camps, the owner surnamed Ren and the west surnamed Liang. Liang Jia wants to build an east wing, and it is based on land occupation. No one is allowed. The two families hold their own opinions and do not give in to each other. Ren Jia sent a letter to the family members who were officials outside the country to discuss. Soon, the officer wrote back and wrote four poems:

A thousand miles of letters are only for the wall,

What's wrong with letting him be two feet?

The Great Wall of Wan Li is still here today.

When the family received this letter, they felt that it was really reasonable. As neighbors, distant relatives are not as good as close neighbors, and they give up their feet voluntarily. Liang Jia felt ashamed when he heard about it, but he also let the wall base go. The two families went from tit-for-tat to uncompromising to mutual humility. The two families reached an agreement to form this four-foot wide passage to facilitate pedestrians.

This righteous act won the praise of neighbors, and the surrounding residents also learned this lesson. Over the years, they have lived in harmony and respected each other. Since then, the righteousness of "Renyi Hutong" has spread far and wide.
