Quanzhen religion is an important sect of Taoism in China, which has been burning incense for thousands of years. However, the gate is not far from the secular land. During the Republic of China, a bloody case occurred in Beijing Baiyun Temple, a branch of Quanzhen religion-burning ancient roads.

The Taoist priests who were burned to death were An Shilin, the host of Baiyun Temple, and Bai, the supervisor, but they were actually 36 Taoist priests in the Taoist Temple. Since we are classmates, why kill each other? In fact, once the past of the Republic of China is uncovered, it will only make people feel embarrassed.

An ignorant flatterer is the host.

Beijing Baiyun Temple is a holy place of Taoism and one of the three ancestral halls of Quanzhen religion. In 1930s, Chen Mingbin, the current host of Baiyun Temple, was old and decided to pass it on to An Shilin.

This An Shilin is said to have been a Taoist since 16 years old. But after he became a monk, he did not study Taoism. Instead, I am bent on pleasing the host Chen Mingbo. Although Chen Mingbin is a senior Taoist and Taoist host, it is difficult to get rid of the bad habits of secular people after all, and he was almost flattered by An Shilin.

When the appointment was changed, Chen Mingbin, an old fool, gave An Shilin the position of presiding, which was in line with An Shilin's wishes. Years of flattery finally paid off. However, many other Taoists in the Taoist temple are unconvinced, because they also have ideas about the position of the host. Moreover, An Shilin does not learn Taoism and is ignorant, but he is not as good as himself. Moreover, the host inherits its own system, and An Shilin relies on flattery. How can this be convincing?

Second, the door is not satisfied, and the court has no result.

Some Taoist priests in Baiyunguan were dissatisfied with An Shilin's presiding position, so they sued An Shilin for improper presiding position. However, the national government at that time was very dark and knew nothing about money. In the face of A Shilin's large amount of money bribes, the relevant departments have the money to collect money and ignore it.

This is business. As long as they don't care, the Taoists will continue to sue, and then An Shilin will continue to pay bribes. After all, Baiyun Temple is constantly burning incense, and there are still many calligraphy and painting antiques that An Shilin can sell.

In this way, the hand of the government department asking for money and the hand of An Shilin giving money joined hands, and the Taoist priest who complained could not tell An Shilin. This lawsuit lasted 16 years, but there was no result, which shows that the jurisprudence of that era was gone. To 1943, An Shilin is still the host. In order to retaliate against his fellow travelers, he punished and humiliated them in every way with the rules of Taoism, and resentment gradually accumulated invisibly.

Because An Shilin has nothing to hide, some Taoist priests in the temple are oppressed more and more seriously. A Taoist named Li Zhihui, together with other Taoists who didn't like An Shilin, sued An Shilin to the Religious Association of the Republic of China. However, under an Shilin's money bribe, it went away. Soon, the Taoist priest Xu in the pass sued An Shilin to the Beijing government. However, An Shilin's money bribery case was tried and tested, and the case was dropped again.

Third, when building toilets, the misunderstanding of the rules of the next door.

After repeated accusations, An Shilin used Taoist property to resolve it, which really made people angry. But oppression will not disappear, it will only accumulate, waiting for the moment of outbreak. An Shilin's ability as a host will naturally lead to a bad atmosphere, so a Taoist named Bai appeared in the Taoist temple. He patted An Shilin's horse, which was very elegant.

In order to please the host, Bai said that the complaint made Baiyun Temple very unhappy, and suggested asking someone to see Feng Shui to solve it. An Shilin agreed and handed this important task to Bai. Obviously, they are all Taoist priests, and they have to invite others to see Feng Shui. It can be seen that An Shilin and Bai are indeed uneducated and like-minded people. Mr. Feng Shui came and said he needed to build a toilet in the southeast corner to absorb bad luck.

It's easy to build a toilet, but this An Shilin and Bai don't know if it's too full, so they actually built a toilet by themselves. So these two rotten people dug a hole in the Taoist temple, and other Taoist priests didn't know what to do. Seeing the dug pit, some Taoist priests who were very dissatisfied with An Shilin thought it was to dig a pit and bury them!

Fourth, burning the old road, which is right or wrong?

Digging a hole and burying people is a trivial matter. Who dares to do it casually? But the Taoist priest and An Shilin have long been at odds. They didn't think much at that time. They only know that the two sides have forged a feud, and Anshlin can buy off the government. They thought it best to start first. So, 36 Taoist priests, such as Xu, joined forces, sharing the same enemy, and wanted to execute An Shilin and Bai according to the Taoist rules.

Thirty-six Taoist priests signed the certificate of life and death, then quietly waited until an Shilin returned to the Taoist temple to rest in the evening, then broke into his room, stuffed his mouth with lime and put a rope around his neck. Bai is also, and then drag them to the big tree behind the hall of Qiu Zu.

An Shilin and Bai were in shock and were immediately splashed with kerosene as a pledge. An Shilin and Bai Quan ran for their lives and were beaten back by Taoist priests with sticks. In shock and pain, a flame rose, and then the fire burned us to death, both of them died!

At dawn the next day, 36 Taoist priests went to surrender. The police station and local government agencies know that things are getting worse and worse. Some Taoist priests are not as good as An Shilin and dare not take bribes, so they are sentenced by the court according to law. Because of an Shilin's bad reputation and the intercession of religious figures, although the court could not ask for bribes, it had to be lenient. Among the last 36 Taoist priests, 19 was sentenced to five years' imprisonment.

However, this incident still caused repercussions. 19 imprisoned Taoist priests were tortured by prison guards who did not accept bribes, and 9 died in prison. Later, when New China was founded, the case was retried and the remaining 1 1 Taoist priests were released. So, it is better to be a new China!
