Southwest mandarin. The formation of Southwest Mandarin can be traced back to the Ming Dynasty. Due to the implementation of the military immigration and health station system, a large number of immigrants from Jiangnan, Huguang and Jiangxi flooded into southwest China, including Guizhou. These immigrants merged with local ethnic minorities and formed a social structure dominated by Han nationality. In this process, Chinese gradually became the main communication language, and formed the Southwest Mandarin with local characteristics.
