After several exchanges, we became good friends.
Mr. Gui's calligraphy is rooted in tradition and has various styles, especially in opening letters. Based on the calligraphy styles of the two kings, and combined with Wei Bei's pen and tablet, it forms its own unique features. A few years ago, I wrote a poem for Mr Wen Xiang.
The ancient method strives to have a new understanding and interest in ink painting, leaving a circle and opening it everywhere.

Although poetry is slang, it is my basic understanding of Mr. Gui's calligraphy. It also basically summarizes his calligraphy characteristics and personality feelings. "Yuan" is actually a painting term. Putting it here just shows that his calligraphy is multifaceted and comprehensive. For a time, I worked very hard to write Wei Bei, and found out Fang Bi's brushwork and the texture of lines, which were integrated with the elegant and colorful calligraphy style of the two kings, forming a brand-new calligraphy face, which has the advantages of both Fiona Fang and, and is both rigid and flexible, elegant and changeable. It is very valuable to form its own characteristics in line, structure, composition, charm and even book form. This calligraphy style also directly influenced his seal cutting. In other words, his seal cutting is the continuation and development of his calligraphy, which greatly enriches the connotation and extension of his calligraphy. There is another experience, which is also very interesting. Many years ago, we discussed the making of inkstone every week, which was conducive to exploring and promoting traditional culture, from the design and engraving of inkstone to the writing and engraving of inscriptions, as well as the relationship between calligraphers' knowledge and nutrients. On the way to learning books, Miss Gui never refused to trickle down.
As we all know, people who study calligraphy are different. To become real calligraphers, they must go through three stages: gradual stage, stable stage and sublimation stage. The first is the temporary learning stage. As long as the methods are proper and persistent, the overall progress will be rapid. After entering the stable period, the situation is more complicated, some are stagnant, some even retrogress, or become lifelong book slaves, word craftsmen, or go astray. More than 90% of the people were defeated at this stage. Only a few people can enter the third stage. But at this time, it is no longer a question of technology and means. Without enough wisdom and background, life experience and emotional precipitation, it is impossible to achieve. There are very few people who really reach the peak. The ancients said that if they want to learn poetry, kung fu is outside poetry. In the same way, the kung fu of learning books is also outside the book.
In terms of specific learning and learning methods, Mr. Gui has a detailed understanding of the calligraphy of "Two Kings". In addition to the "two kings", Zhi Yong, Chu Suiliang, Yu Shinan, Yan Zhenqing, Su Shi, Huang Tingjian, Mi Fei and "two talents", especially Wang Duo in the late Ming Dynasty, knew Wang Duo's calligraphy skills like the back of his hand. "Just keep a, and always in and out of the palace, no ancient today, no one without me, write an endless, write a familiar place, suddenly enlightened, layers of infiltration, insight into the subtle secrets of the ancients, my pen bursts with secrets to change. Nowadays, people who study can be described as overwhelming, which is indeed a good thing, but it also brings another phenomenon, mud and sand are mixed. Some people with ulterior motives, in the name of calligraphy, walk the rivers and lakes, ugly books, strange books, slave books, and what's more, they are curious and splash ink, attracting attention. What is real calligraphy? How to get to calligraphy? What is the purpose of calligraphy? There are not many people who really think now, and most of them follow the trend blindly. For a time, calligraphy lost its correct direction.
What is good calligraphy? This problem has been bothering Mr. Gui. In this regard, he has his own understanding and views. Of course, he can't be satisfied with several book fairs and awards, let alone with the comments of several judges at present. How can calligraphy penetrate the fog of time, follow the footsteps of the ancients, and truly express itself freely and profoundly? This is a serious problem. It is not easy to do these two things. Without the depth of humanity, the purity of feelings, and the responsibility of humanity, everything is impossible.
Mr. Gui has deep feelings for traditional culture and hometown. As a native of Lushan Mountain, I prefer to write something about Lushan Mountain, especially for Tao Yuanming's personality and simple writing style, no matter from the perspective of knowledge or writing content selection. Like the ancient sages and sages 1,600 years ago, they all stepped on the same land and had the same affection, so they had the same warmth in the ancient land of "going to Beijing", as if their later studies were continuing the unfinished business of their predecessors. Not long ago, Mr. Gui was writing an exhibition of poems and books by rural sages in Lushan Mountain. In the preface, I wrote:
Golden wind rises, autumn leaves are yellow, Dongli picks chrysanthemums, and osmanthus fragrance. More than 1,600 years ago, Tao Yuanming loved autumn chrysanthemums in Nanshan, and wrote the poem "Picking chrysanthemums under the hedge and seeing Nanshan leisurely", which turned Nanshan into a place where poetry was brewed and turned Nanshan into a peach blossom garden that everyone yearned for. /kloc-Today, more than 0/600 years later, Mr. Gui, who was born in Tao Yuanming's hometown of "going to Beijing", once again explained Tao Yuanming's feelings in the form of calligraphy and started a dialogue across time and space.
