Watching the movie Xianglinsao, why should the movie be called Xianglinsao?

It is based on the novel of the same name by Lu Xun (it may also be a script transplanted from a drama in the south), and of course it may also refer to movies. This is my understanding, not necessarily historical materials, but I doubt whether this understanding is reasonable.

What I want to say here is nitpicking. This is the title of the play. In my opinion, since it has been changed to Shaanxi Opera, it is also an indispensable good idea to keep the script as close to the life and appreciation habits of Shaanxi Opera people as possible while retaining the indispensable words, events, backgrounds and props in the original work. Otherwise, it will make Shaanxi people feel a sense of separation.

Although the adaptation of this drama is quite successful, as far as the title is concerned, as a person who has received higher education and loves Mr. Zhou Shuren's works, I also think that it is not very good to use this name in Shaanxi Opera. The word "blessing" seems to be more suitable for people in the living area written in the novel, but for people in Shaanxi and other places, they often don't know what to say and have to think for a long time. For example, Shaanxi people like to say fortune-telling lottery in their language, and its meaning is very clear, but if we have to use the word "prayer", it will be a bit unfriendly. Think about it, it has been used by other plays, but it makes people feel that it conforms to the naming habit and the adapted plot.

Let me say a few more words here: Shaanxi opera is not exactly the same as novels, because drama is difficult to express in terms of Lushan's ideological style. Drama can only be dealt with in the form of stories. In order to make people look good, it should follow its own rules. In the final analysis, we can only take Xianglinsao as the main clue to strengthen the image of He Laoliu (He Laoliu is only mentioned many times in the original book, which is not as clear as it is in the play), thus forming a story scene. However, many interesting scenes in the novel are neglected.
