Zhong You was born in Yingchuan, Zhongshi. During the Eastern Han Dynasty, Ju Xiaolian was born, and served as an assistant minister of Shang and Huangmen, assisting Emperor Xiandi to return to Luoyang in the east, and was named Donghou. After gaining the trust of Cao Cao, the prime minister of the dynasty, he became a captain, guarding Guanzhong, and made outstanding achievements, and was compared to Xiao He. Reluctantly moved to a former military adviser.

When Cao Cao was made King of Wei, he served as Wei Dali Qing and Guo Xiang. After the establishment of Cao Wei, after worshiping the court, he moved to Taiwei, ranking first in the three fairs. When he was promoted to be a teacher, he was appointed as Hou of Lingxian County. In the fourth year of Taihe (230), Zhong You died and posthumous title succeeded. At the beginning of four years (243), it was returned to Cao Cao Temple, Emperor Wu of Wei.

Zhong You was good at seal script, official script, original script, running script and cursive script, and he was quite accomplished in calligraphy, which promoted the development of regular script (small script) and had a far-reaching influence on later calligraphy, and was honored as the "originator of regular script" by later generations. He and Wang Xizhi, the sage of books, are called "Zhong Wang". Yu Jianwu of the Southern Dynasties commented that his book was "above the top grade"; In the Tang Dynasty, Zhang Huaiguan's Narration was rated as a "masterpiece".

Zhong You was born in the Zhong family in Yingchuan. When he was young, he was extraordinary in appearance and brilliant. He once went to Luoyang with his uncle Yu Zhong. On the way, he met a physiognomist. Seeing Zhong You's appearance, the fortuneteller said to Yu Zhong, "The boy looks rich, but he will be flooded. Please walk carefully. "

As a result, after walking less than ten miles, when crossing the bridge, the horse that Zhong Qin rode suddenly panicked, and Zhong Qin was thrown into the water and almost drowned. When Yu Zhong saw the fortune teller's words come true, he appreciated Zhong You more and more and gave him money to concentrate on his studies.

Later, Zhong You was demoted to Xiaolian, who served as the county magistrate of Shang and Yangling, and left due to illness. He was recruited by the governments of the three countries as Tingweizheng and Huangmen Assistant Minister. At that time, Emperor Xian was in Chang 'an and Xijing, and dictatorships such as generals Li Jue and Guo Si blocked the connection between Xian Di and Kanto.
