The development of history

Sandun Town has a long history. It is said that during the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period (22 BC1), Xunzi, a student of Confucius, visited Sandun and planted orchids by the river. He did good for the people, and in memory of him, he was named Li Lan. During the Xianfeng period, Li Xiucheng, the leader of the Taiping Army, rode to Sandun. The Taiping Army issued marriage registration certificates to Li Daming and Chai Damei in Qiantang, which is now in the Zhejiang Museum.

The establishment of the town began before the Southern Song Dynasty. In the Republic of China 19 (1930), the local autonomy system was implemented and it was subordinate to Hangxian County. /kloc-0 was liberated on may 3, 949, and Sandun Town People's Government was established in August of the same year. 1958 revoked Hangzhou County, belonging to Sandun District of Hangzhou, and Sandun Commune was established in the same year.
