What is the structure and working principle of wax valve?

The wax valve is an automatic control element, which controls the cooling water flow according to the water supply temperature of the condenser. Its structure and working principle are shown in Figure 5- 1 1. It is a three-way valve, and the valve is equipped with a wax bag made of brass, and the wax bag is sealed with a special wax that will expand when dissolved. Using the expansion of wax, the three-way valve automatically opens and closes to control the flow of cooling water. When in use, one end of the three-way valve is connected with the bypass valve, and the other two ends are connected with the condenser and the cooling tower.

When the water temperature through the valve rises to the value of dissolving wax, the volume of wax expands and the pin connected with it moves through the push rod. Drive the rotary wing to rotate in the pump body, so that the flow to the cooling tower increases, the bypass flow decreases, and the temperature of circulating water gradually decreases.

When the water temperature drops, the rotor rotates in the opposite direction, so that the water flow to the cooling tower decreases, while the bypass flow increases, so that the water temperature is maintained in a given range, thus ensuring the stability of the condensation pressure of the refrigeration system.
