What does "five clothes" mean?

Five clothes in rural areas refer to nine ethnic groups: great-grandfather, great-grandfather, grandfather, father, himself, son, grandson, great-grandson and great-grandson. Since ancient times, China has attached great importance to filial piety, held funerals for relatives, and also wore different mourning clothes according to kinship, which is what we often call Pima Dai Xiao.
