The root of osmanthus fragrans

Osmanthus fragrans root system is relatively developed. If it is a seedling, the taproot is obvious, deep and long. But its fibrous roots are shallow, generally underground 10-20 cm. Therefore, when transplanting osmanthus trees, the threshold should not be too deep, so as to avoid waterlogging in the pit and damage the fibrous roots. Because of this, the spine of the tree is often turned back to the shape of steamed bread, which makes the fibrous roots breathe.
