Why don't Puning people recognize Jieyang?

Puning developed better than Jieyang City, and its popularity was high, which led Puning to deny Jieyang. Just like California doesn't recognize the United States.

Puning is located in the southeast of Guangdong Province, in the west of Chaoshan Plain, and in the upper reaches of Rongjiang, Lianjiang and Longjiang. Between east longitude115 43'10 "and north latitude16 21'02" and north latitude 23 05' 40 ". It is adjacent to Chaoyang District and Chaonan District of Shantou City in the east, Huilai County in the south, Lufeng City and Luhe County in the southwest, Jiexi County in the northwest and Rongcheng District and Jiedong County in Jieyang City in the north.

The urban area is 53 kilometers east of Shantou, 38 kilometers north of Jieyang Rongcheng, 300 kilometers west of Guangzhou, the provincial capital, and 30 kilometers south of the South China Sea coast. The city boundary is about 50 kilometers long from east to west and 38 kilometers wide from north to south. The perimeter of the city boundary is about 206 kilometers, with a total area of 1620.05 square kilometers.

Puning Mountain is a branch of Yin Na Mountain which extends to the southeast. The southern part is Da Nanshan, the southwestern part is Emei Mountain and Nanyang Mountain, the northeastern part is the low hills between Lianjiang and Rongjiang, and the central part of Lianjiang and the northern part of Rongjiang are vast alluvial-diluvial plains, with terraces distributed between the plains and hills. The terrain inclines from southwest to northeast with a gentle slope.
