Altitude of Longtan New Village in Fuling, Chongqing

Fuling district is located in the transition zone between Sichuan basin and the mountainous area near the basin. The territory is dominated by low mountains and hills, spanning the north and south of the Yangtze River and running through the east and west of Wujiang River. Generally speaking, the terrain is high in the southeast and low in the northwest, and the northwest-southeast section is in a symmetrical saddle shape inclined to the middle of the Yangtze River basin. The highest altitude is 1977 meters, and the lowest is 138 meters, mostly between 200 and 800 meters.

There are various types of landforms in the area, mainly hills and terraces (accounting for 54.4%), followed by low mountains (accounting for 3 1. 1%), Zhongshan (accounting for 13.3%) and Pingba (accounting for 1.2% only). The landscape pattern forms a ridge anticline with low mountains and wide and gentle syncline valleys alternately and orderly, which is cut into three regions: Jiangdong, Jiangbei and Jiangnan by the Yangtze River and Wujiang Valley.
