Seclusion in the mountains, Mo Wen dust.

The small ones are hidden in the mountains, and the big ones are hidden in the city. This is an old saying. "City" is a place of fame and fortune, a secular society and a place for all sentient beings. The mountain is a clean place, and there is no dispute between right and wrong and interests. People, if they want to escape from the shackles of the secular world and be a free person, seem to have to live in seclusion in the mountains and get rid of the shackles of the secular world before they can really retire.

There are three realms in life, the first is the material realm, and 98% of people are in this realm. They have worked hard for material life all their lives, and finally they have little wealth. The second is the spiritual realm. 2% of people at this level may not have enough food and clothing, even the middle class, have achieved wealth freedom, have a certain cultural literacy, and want to do something to leave their own track in history; The third is the realm of faith, which only a few people can achieve through the ages. Mao Zedong, a great man, and Sakyamuni, a Buddha, are both people who have their own life beliefs and changed the course of the world. They have made great achievements in history. People who have seclusion actions or thoughts are basically people of the first realm.

People can't help themselves in the Jianghu. There are too many disappointments and helplessness in life. Those who can't learn to compromise with reality will only wring themselves out and end up scarred and exhausted. Where there are people, there are rivers and lakes, and there will be conflicts of interest, invisible smoke, swords and shadows everywhere. Some people wander in the mortal world, put down their bodies, do as the Romans do, push a cup for a change, and wander among the dignitaries, so they gain both fame and fortune and rise step by step. There are too many such people, but they are not hiding in the city, but living in the world. Few people can really hide in the city. Most people just live in cities, not cities. Zeng Guofan is a great scholar who lives in seclusion. When he was young, he followed the example of Qing officials. He acted according to the rules, but the court didn't trust him and his colleagues didn't cooperate. After living in seclusion for a year, he learned from a bitter experience, changed his face, and summed up many tips for doing things. See through human nature, tolerate, utilize and develop. This is the hermit. Small-minded, ambitious and wise. There is no hurry to fight, seeking stability first and seeking change second; Doing things silently is sophisticated and smart. To name a few, with such strategic wisdom, he commanded the three armed forces and defeated the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom repeatedly, and finally helped the Qing Empire to establish the country and became a generation of Confucian saints hidden in the city.

Fan Li in the Spring and Autumn Period is another example. I couldn't read when I was a child. I thought his name was Fan Sha. I wonder how he got such a name and stayed in history. This is not simple. This is a joke. He once suggested helping Gou Jian, the King of Yue, to restore the country. After retiring from the mountains, he was bored and became a rich man after doing business. After three times, he spent money like water to help the poor and was regarded as a god of wealth by later generations. He is an outstanding representative of seclusion in the mountains. He made great achievements in his life, and then he retired bravely after becoming famous. After living in seclusion in the mountains, he became rich in business. Being famous is hard. This is a man of God.

Jiang Taigong once lived in seclusion in the mountains and fished alone three feet away from the nutrient-rich river. What he actually caught was not fish, but the king's attention and his contribution to the world. Living in seclusion in the mountains is just to prepare for starting a business. Here, seclusion is a cover, and birth is the purpose. This is a method of talent self-marketing, which is very successful.

Boyi and Shu Qi also lived in seclusion. First, they refused to accept the throne and let the country flee. Later, when Zhou was attacked, he flattered. The world belongs to Zhou, and they ate it with humiliation, picked up the European Union, made a song, made a clear ambition, and starved to death in shouyangshan. Sima Qian made many comments on this in Historical Records, but it seems that his deeds are not commendable. Since he lived in seclusion in the mountains, he went to Mo Wen, put down his political pursuit and let the world let nature take its course. How can one stop the operation of heaven by one's own efforts? These are incomplete hermits.

Retire from the mountains and seek spiritual liberation, both ancient and modern. In the secular dust, interest disputes, power struggles, material society, money first, people in it, want to get rid of but can not, want to be quiet but can not, can not follow one's inclinations. Everyone has the idea of seclusion in the mountains. On the one hand, the flowers and trees in the courtyard are sparse, the chrysanthemums are picked under the fence, and there are no distractions in my heart. I drink tea, study and work, and I have no desire and no desire. How beautiful it is that we can't leave the worldly desires and stop pursuing material things. We can only drive into the mountains on weekends, enjoy the farmhouse, experience the feeling of seclusion in the mountains, and then come back to make a living. In fact, to retire from the mountains, we should not only do nothing, but also let go of everything. In my opinion, we should have some wealth as the foundation today, instead of worrying about three meals a day, so that people can feel more comfortable and enjoy themselves among the mountains and forests.

People who retire from the mountains have stories behind them. Suffering from illness, being afraid of life, being confused about the future due to business failure, being disappointed with feelings due to the breakdown of marriage, losing spiritual sustenance due to the departure of relatives, and having no hope for love, choosing to live in seclusion in the mountains is actually to escape the responsibilities and obligations of life and the realistic problems, just like an ostrich burying its head in the sand when it is in danger, it can truly see through the world of mortals, consciously worship Buddha, put aside all worldly obsessions, abstain from abstinence, and convert to Buddhism. There are thousands of hermits in Zhong Nanshan, and almost everyone has a helpless or sad story behind them.

There are monks in the temple who are sincere to the Buddha and sincere to all beings. I believe there are, but very few. Master Hong Yi, born in a famous family, experienced legend, but consciously cut off the love of the world of mortals, refused to practice, achieved brilliant results, and at the same time, gave up the ego and achieved great success. The world has not seen the master for a long time. Now, there are even more rumors that many temples have been contracted by businesses and operated in companies for profit. Even monks in some temples are purely professional and work eight hours a day. As soon as they get off work, they take off their robes, live in the secular world, get married and have children, have luxury cars and beautiful women, and live a good life. There are too many such dog blood stories in the world, and there are also such rumors in Shaolin Temple.

Nowadays, people live in seclusion in the mountains, regardless of the dust, which is basically a false proposition. "It's nice to meet and say goodbye, but we've never seen anyone under the forest." Our hearts yearn for seclusion in the mountains, the wind is light and the clouds are light, but our bodies can't. This is a contradiction. Living and pursuing human happiness is inherent in human nature, but sometimes it is also the responsibility and obligation of the people we love. Real practice is not only in the mountains, but also in temples. Need in the heart, more need in the society. Live in practice, practice in life. Cultivate yourself in your heart, look down on material things, look down on glitz, let go of grievances, let go of self-obsession, let life be quiet and simple, like a wild flower in the mountains, bloom its beauty and fragrance lightly, and let time pass quietly between flowers. Gao Quanxi
