Dazhen Kampo: How do practitioners deal with the relationship with gods, ghosts and immortals?
After we convert to Buddhism, we can't convert to supernatural, worldly ghosts and gods, nor can we take them as a real place of conversion, but we can worship them. Conversion is four kinds of determination: the determination to take Buddha as a teacher, the method as the Tao, the monk as a Taoist friend, and the master as a true teacher. Of course we don't have the determination of these ghosts and gods. Without these resolutions, we can't convert, and we can support, worship and worship without converting. In particular, those who are good at protecting the gods belong to the world, but they are all protecting the cause of Buddhism and protecting the practitioners who do good and break evil in the world.
Many people have this situation. In the past, they sacrificed to God at home, but now the time is ripe. They want to build a Buddhist temple to worship Buddha, but they want to continue to worship God. It doesn't matter that they are ambivalent inside. Fopudu is a sentient being. Aren't those gods beings? The Buddha is the same to all sentient beings, without any difference. The Buddha's compassion for his children is exactly the same as that for all sentient beings, and so is the Buddha's gratitude to his parents and all sentient beings. Buddha and children, what's wrong with being with parents? We always think about this with the thinking of ordinary people.
Sacrifice and conversion are two concepts. The place where we convert is the three treasures of the guru, and we need the help of the good god to protect the law in the process of spiritual practice. God needs people's worship and admiration, and people also need God's protection and blessing-people and God are inseparable. The Buddha talked about many ways of offering sacrifices to God, and there are also many rituals of offering sacrifices to God in tantric practice. The Ode to Eight Auspiciouss, which we recite every day, includes: Eight protectors in the world, and I bow respectfully; Eight women in the world, I bow respectfully. This is what the Buddha said, and the Buddha respectfully bowed to the protector of the world, which is a courtesy between man and god. People should also be polite. In the past, everyone was very polite, but now in the last days of France, there is no courtesy and respect between people, so people's blessings are becoming more and more shallow.
There are gods everywhere. Everyone has a god to protect himself, and every family has a god to protect this family. Trees also have tree gods, bridges also have bridge gods, water also has water gods, as well as gods, land gods, wealth gods and so on. Some people visit God's world with magical power and find that the gods in some places are particularly pitiful because the local people don't worship them. In some places, the gods are especially rich because the local people worship them.
No matter where we go, whether we go to temples, lay families or other places, when we do some ceremonies, we must sacrifice to the land god first, and then to the gods. Say hello to them for them and ask them to bless and help, and things will be smooth and complete.
Isn't it normal to say hello before you do something? So do people. If you just go to one place and don't say hello, you will definitely get into trouble. Say hello, send a gift, and then things will go smoothly, and it will be easy. The same is true! We are all Buddhists and practitioners now, and we also need help from others. If we have a good relationship with those ghosts and gods, they will care about us and help us, and will not create obstacles for us. At present, many people who study Buddhism have this kind of obstacle. There are many reasons for practicing Buddhism. The family is not safe, everything is not smooth, and the mood is not good. Slowly, the heart of learning Buddhism and practicing is gone.
Many people don't know how to pretend to know, "I believe in Buddhism! I won't supply these! " Then despise, vilify and abandon them. They have magical power and know your thoughts and actions. They haven't been freed yet, and there are also me holding my love, greed and ignorance in the continuation. Although they are not capable, they are better than you. Want to give you trouble, you can't handle it.
You want to send them away, how can it be so easy? Your family god or god of wealth, if he doesn't have fate with you, he can't find you or come to your home. If you despise, vilify and abandon them, they can't leave you alone and create obstacles. Something happened at home today, and I will be sick tomorrow. Most of these things are done by them. This is also your own cause and effect. Those beings who should have a good relationship, you don't have a good relationship, but your relationship with them is very poor. Karma. This is karma! Good is rewarded with good, evil with evil, and there will be no mistakes!
You respect them, worship them, appreciate them, make them happy and satisfied, get along with them, just like getting along with others, and they will respect you, protect you and help you in turn. At that time, they will all be your guardians. If you don't have a good relationship with them, they will become your evil spirits and will definitely hurt you, interfere with you and cause you trouble. You think of them as demons, they are demons, and they will torture you. If you not only learn Buddhism by yourself, but also take them to practice and return their merits to them, they are also sentient beings. Knowing that your heart is so kind and broad, you will be moved. They will lie in front of you, learn from you and practice with you. Isn't this about saving all beings?
Do you have to hurt them and send them away? Where to send it? This is their own place! They are the gods of this family and are particularly willing to protect this family. You think this is your home, and he thinks this is his home, so there is a contradiction. But can you compete with him? It is out of the question.
So is the god of wealth. You think this is your wealth, and he thinks this is his wealth, but it is actually the wealth of both of you. Sometimes you admire and admire, sometimes you offer sacrifices, and they will take good care of their property, be auspicious and complete. Isn't it easy to do this? In fact, it is easy to get along with them, but it is not easy to get along with others. Look at the people around you, some are unjust relatives and creditors. No matter what you do, they are not satisfied and will hurt you. These ghosts and gods make sense. You're right, unlike people. You become good friends with them, and people and the power of God are combined, then everything will be smooth.
These ghosts and gods are all sentient beings and have Buddha nature. We should be pure in everything! You don't care about purity, and you regard them as ghosts and obstacles. This is all your own heart! If you take him as a ghost, he is a ghost; If you treat him like a Buddha, he is a Buddha. We haven't realized this yet, but we have really realized that they are Buddhas; We didn't realize that they were all sentient beings. Aren't we all merciful bodhi to all sentient beings? Where was your sympathy at that time? Where is your bodhicitta? When you converted to Buddhism, you said that you would not harm all sentient beings, but you must spare them. What did you do at this time? Aren't these all beings? You hurt them. Isn't that harmful to all beings?

In fact, for a person who knows right from wrong, there is no need to be afraid, because empty wandering and hungry ghosts are everywhere, not to mention at home, even in temples and Dojo. We were hungry before. When we are dying, if we are greedy for wealth and family, we will also become hungry ghosts.
Why does Buddha object to fortune telling and supernatural powers? Because these will cause people, Jaken. After hearing what Xian Jia and others said, they began to have troubles and evil thoughts, and demons rose and appeared. "Yes, I didn't sleep well last night, as if I saw something in the window." "Yes, I often dream that an ancestor died in our family. What should I do now? " Then I was caught by those swindlers. When you wake up in a few days, the liar has run away and cheated you of all your money. It is too late. This is also your own cause and effect, there is no way.
Needless to say, you and your family must have those wandering hungry ghosts and unjust creditors. They stretched out their hands and asked for your debt. But if the opportunity is not mature, even if they pester you again, they will not be in debt; If the opportunity is ripe, it's no use running away. You must bear the consequences.
The Buddha has made the cause and effect clear. The Buddha calculated our life more than 2500 years ago, and the calculation was very accurate. Buddha gives us not only this life, but also past lives, this life and the afterlife. He also taught us how to solve problems and change our destiny, which was very satisfactory. Therefore, as a true Buddhist practitioner, there is no need to go to a fortune teller or find other ways to solve the problem. Cause and effect is the ultimate fortune-telling, and breaking evil deeds and doing good is the ultimate way to change fate.
We can't generalize. All fortune tellers are liars. However, we have converted to Buddhism and practiced Buddhism. Buddha is our ultimate mentor, so there is no need to find another mentor. Buddhism is the ultimate way to get rid of troubles and pains, and there is no need to find other ways.
