Classic Quotations of Long Talk by Two Luo Fats

Lead: Explore the important relationships that entrepreneurs will face with users, investors, executives, employees, suppliers and themselves in the process of starting a business. There are many famous sayings and golden sentences.

Luo Zhenyu: I heard that you lived in the factory for some time.

Luo Yonghao: I haven't been home in Yizhuang factory for two months. Many of our directors are in the factory. Opposite the factory is a hotel. Where do we live? We go to work there in the morning and cross the street to sleep at night.

Luo Zhenyu: This is a cooperation between two companies. How can you help by participating in them?

Luo Yonghao: Well, if you are a small company and find a good OEM, you must have the best team to support the big customers at this time, and you are supported by a relatively weak small team. We are very calm about this, and so are we. Six small customers set a 5% income, each of which is a customer. I will provide good service, but you don't ask me to do the same thing in this service quality. We're fine. The problem brought about by this is that if you strike a table there in the morning and say that you will solve it at noon and go all out to distribute the problem, the resources you can mobilize are much weaker than those of the strong teams. We sent engineers to the factory to cooperate, and the result was a relatively weak team within him. That's why we send a lot of people in.

Luo Zhenyu: When did you get the craziest?

Luo Yonghao: I can't count them. There have been more than ten times in these four and a half years. We make T 1 in the factory. Let's sit down for an early meeting, first report yesterday's problems and what the newly discovered problems are, and make a list of projects. When we finish, we will go to the workshop. Generally, morning meetings are held after seven o'clock, which is probably the case.

The problem of 140 was discovered for the first time, and 30 problems were solved and 75 problems were added. The third and fourth days are more and more, for three weeks in a row. I feel I must end my bankruptcy with dignity. I felt completely hopeless, but after almost a month, I held a regular meeting and fell down one by one. At the turning point, I will probably come back to life. So all possible life-and-death moments are experienced later, and the front is desensitization.

Jin Woo: In the last paragraph, let's talk about your relationship with yourself. I have repeatedly said that you won't last long. Have you really thought about failure?

Luo Yonghao: I've thought about it many times, and the more I think about it, the less afraid I am. One reason is the desensitization I just mentioned, and the other reason is that when I think that this company may close down in the early days, my situation and my later thoughts will change greatly.

In the early days, I was very worried. When we started our business in a shack in Zhongguancun, we thought about how to explain it to people all over the world who were fooled by me. This is a big concern, and then we lost the investors' money, and even if the commercial limited liability company went bankrupt, the issue of face was the least important to me until the end of the first year, including many friends who were worried about your arrogance.

Luo Zhenyu: You are a fairy now.

Luo Yonghao: Almost.

Luo Zhenyu: One problem is that you have dreamed of the greatest achievement in life and the highest point you think you can reach.

Luo Yonghao: I think we should go back to the time when we just made the platform. I think the human computing platform is a big deal. Every ten years or decades, a big subversive change will take place. Although we would have a smart phone without Steve Jobs, we would also have today's mobile Internet. However, some key figures appeared at a node in the historical development process, which improved the progress of mankind by one person for three or four years. This is not uncommon in the history of science. I will especially look forward to it if you can make changes in the process of promoting world progress because of your personal strength. You didn't mean to be a hero. No one can do it except you. Everyone theoretically guesses whether there will be one or two key figures in that direction in three to five years. This thing can satisfy more than gold and silver. This is what we are particularly looking forward to.

There is also a technology industry that is no better than other industries. If there is no big problem in selling sugar water, and a mature team of professional managers can last for hundreds of years, there will be no big problem in that industry, and the inherent resources will continue to lead. In case of being defeated by another sugar water, it is essentially a zero-sum game. Being the first in the technology industry is not a century-old shop. Because of its innate advantage, it has always been ahead. This is not what I actually saw. I like the technology industry very much. There is no century-old shop in the technology industry, and the awesome company/kloc-will die after 0/00 years. Google and Amazon are like cows, they may not work in 50 years, and Coca-Cola may not change in 300 years. The core of the technology industry is here.

If a small company in the technology industry wants to beat a big company, the core is to rely on products, not luck or other inexplicable things, but to see that it really does better than others and brings good things to others. The greatest success is that if I can become a great company in a certain field in the process of scientific and technological progress, I can bring several years of progress to mankind in a certain field and form such a situation, which is the most I can imagine.

Luo Zhenyu: What changes have taken place in yourself these years? What changes have you made?

Luo Yonghao: You just said that some of my adjustments were caused by professional needs. That's not change. The real change, I think, is that I am much more relaxed than before. This is not because I am not motivated, but because I am motivated and knowledgeable now. That is to say, I have the opportunity to see more things and get in touch with these things. Because my vision has become broader, and I am more tolerant of people's understanding of things and the world.

Luo Zhenyu: For example. What didn't bother you before can be understood now?

Luo Yonghao: For example, in fact, the practices of some enterprises are not evil and immoral. Just now, when I was doing customer service in the idealistic period, I hoped my satisfaction was 100%, not 95% or 96%. You can say that it was too idealistic at that time, and now it is not to say that it is not idealistic. There was no common sense and knowledge at that time. A company advertises that its customer satisfaction is 97%, and I think it is not 100%.

I read the relevant theory books, so as not to give directions to the customer service manager. Reading is beyond my imagination. When it comes to customer satisfaction, you should not pursue 100%, even if the cost is controllable. 100 There are always two or three hooligans in the normal distribution of people. This is a common phenomenon in human society. When I was a child, there were at least two or three bad children in a class of more than 50 children. It is possible that he is also a gene. The victim, objectively described as a bad boy, gets pleasure from bullying the weak. Bad guys like this, hooligans plus hooligans, an enterprise pursues 100% customer satisfaction, that is to say, when a hundred hooligans blackmail you and misrepresent you, your cooperation will inevitably lead similar people to your brand. After ten days, you will know that you are so tonal, and soon you will be fed up.

If I have never run a business or been exposed to things in related fields, from a consumer's point of view, a good business in my mind is 100% satisfaction. Why let those two or three people down? You made a series of policies to stop those two or three people. This policy will inevitably make people who are not hooligans feel unhappy in this process, and even suffer some grievances sometimes, which I never expected when I didn't run this industry.

When I don't do business, I see that some entrepreneurs keep some things secret, and they still keep them secret, and some don't, just like in this process, that is to say, there is an interesting theory that entrepreneurs as mass consumer goods have lower overall moral standards than ordinary people. I have been doing it for several years, and I understand why, because a person has suffered a lot of grievances and slanders in the process of growing up, that is, the moral level of the post-90 s is higher than that of the post-80 s, and the possibility of survival of the grown-up children is even less.

There is also an unusual problem, tolerance for others' mistakes, because I have seen and experienced more things and tolerated others more. I have seen the life and living conditions of people I didn't see in my previous life circle, and the tolerance will change after those things. This is the biggest change.

Luo Zhenyu: Being born proud is more proud or just as proud? Still not as proud as before?

Luo Yonghao: In some ways, people are more proud than before. The reason is that some difficult moments have inspired my rebellious mentality, and some things that should have been adhered to are stronger than before. In the second case, I found a problem. While doing business, it is possible to maintain a noble moral thing, but it is impossible to be a noble cleanliness. Cleanliness is different. Not a person with good moral character, but a person who is as honest as a model project. This theory.

For example, from zero to one, a person's business ethics is noble, and it can only be said that it is noble if it is monopolized in one field. For example, Google dares to say that it is not evil, and the overall situation has not changed. Relying on search engines for many years, even if you don't make progress, it is very profitable. Only a breakthrough from zero to one can be noble.

I have changed today, and so have my early years. Our friends have misunderstood that it is immoral to make money in business. I did not hesitate to deny whether being an entrepreneur can't keep moral cleanliness. This must be 100%. If you are an independent intellectual and keep moral cleanliness all your life, as long as your survival ability is not too clumsy, there will be no problem. If you are in business, you can hardly do it.

Luo Zhenyu: Do you like this change yourself?

Luo Yonghao: Frankly speaking, I have some regrets. In the early days, entrepreneurship included idealism. You think that being a successful enterprise can keep moral cleanliness under all circumstances. There is no such business on earth. You think you can't try this, but no one succeeds.

Luo Zhenyu: Some people say that starting a business can give consideration to both career and family. I am also an entrepreneur. I think this is ridiculous. You just have to choose. What do you think of this problem?

Luo Yonghao: In extreme cases, most start-ups work overtime day and night. I have indeed seen them not working overtime, or going shopping in particular or how to get things done. This is the case with Mo Mo in Tang Yan, who always satirizes a company that doesn't work overtime and knows that there are many people playing cards, but it can't. They have been listed for three years and have been developing very well. I think he is of course modest and says it's luck. I think people, management style and work style are different. We are all product manufacturers. You don't worry about management, and the products are deducted very carefully to get today's results. I think the boss of a startup like ours works hard. The reason for the success of some enterprises is not as good as planning to make a product well. Momo is not bad. At this time, the founder's other abilities will always add points to make a company successful, so it is not by deducting the product to the extreme, and a lot of work can be successful without overtime. I think it's ok to polish the product.

Luo Zhenyu: Let's go back to this problem. Apart from reading, what is the most inspiring way of learning for you in recent years?

Luo Yonghao: Several friends I met in business gave me active and passive help, gave me some suggestions, introduced some resources and gave me some help. Then there is reading.

Luo Zhenyu: Do you have any learning methods?

Luo Yonghao: For me, I still study, so so do I. I found an interesting one earlier. You know, the books sold at the railway station are different from those sold at the airport. The books read by the two groups are in the eye-catching position in the bookstore at the airport. One or two books are extremely reliable. Later I bought books at the airport. My only regret is that the first batch of e-books did not go on the market. I bought hard and soft bags first, and then read the labels on the e-books. When reviewing, summarizing and telling colleagues, the labels in the computer are efficiently screened out and made into printed copies. The disadvantage is that those who query and sort out afterwards and copy at high speed are very inefficient. This is quite annoying.

We also made a mistake in the early days, that is, reading books. In this process, because there are many experiences summarized by predecessors and wisdom accumulated in actual combat, you think it is of great help to you, but you can't remember it when you actually use it. Why didn't you do this last week? I forgot at that time. I learned a law of solving problems at school, and I solved a dozen or twenty problems by this method, and then I called this tool when I encountered similar problems. If the teacher overturns a law, you will not remember how to solve many problems without actual combat. I found that after this, I found several young people in the company to form a study group, marked all the business management books we read each other, including what we learned in marketing, rearranged them and made a PPT collective discussion. If there is a problem, remind the other person to use that trick, it will become a part of my toolbox in my mind, or I will go back to school to review the actual combat repeatedly.

Luo Zhenyu: The following set of questions is even more empty. If you could experience another person's work and life, who would you choose?

Luo Yonghao: I've been reading this question for a long time. We have lived for decades with limited vitality. There are so many things we want to try and experience that it is impossible. It is impossible to extend our life span tenfold. My curiosity is still very strong. Suddenly ask who it is, I can think of a politician. Why? Because I didn't know until I started my business that you should follow the principles and do things well. In this respect, politicians must lie. I don't have any political ambitions. For a politician, in his life, he may have to solve a problem, stick to the bottom line and play dumb. This thing is very curious This thing depresses my personality ten times more than doing business, but it will make me curious.

Luo Zhenyu: My answer is similar to yours. My answer is Roosevelt. His personality is the most typical, with both a fox and a lion. In fact, I can't tell which ones are really great and which ones are really timid.

Luo Yonghao: I enjoy it when I think about it. Really, will you try?

Luo Zhenyu: No, our life can't stand that kind of pulling. That requires a very broad heart. Jobs once said that he would exchange all his wealth for an afternoon with Socrates. If it were you, would you? Who do you like best among the ancients?

Luo Yonghao: That would be much easier. When you said you would like to spend the afternoon with me, did you mean a real person?

Luo Zhenyu: Dead.

Luo Yonghao: It must be the Braun brothers and Jobs. These are the only people I am most interested in, that is, I am interested in meeting or how to meet. I don't have to ask questions. I really hope there is a possibility of contact. What I regret most is that old Joe didn't go to San Francisco when he was alive. I don't know what to think. He didn't go to San Francisco until after his death. Later, he passed by Cao Fang and went to the Art Center, and went downstairs and walked around the venue. I think this is incredible. Why didn't he listen to the scene when he was alive? This is particularly regrettable. Socrates, they were already dead when you met them, but it's incredible that they didn't do it.

Luo Zhenyu: Here is the last question of the long interview. If you design a tombstone for yourself now and a back for yourself, what will you leave for the business history of China?

Luo Yonghao: I used to have a joke that this tombstone was carved like this? His life, no matter what industry he is engaged in, has caused irreparable losses to other industries. I wanted to carve the tombstone like this, but it was the other way around. After doing business for five years, it seems a bit hypocritical to be too determined now. If you think about it seriously, it probably means that I grew up in a country where I had no chance to do business, and then I had many dreams in this field when I was a child. But because of my personal efforts and catching up with the opportunities of the times, it is probably better to describe such things in a simpler way.

When I was a child, my idols were giants like saints, but I never imagined that their work had any connection or possibility with my life. In a blink of an eye, I was in my thirties. When I was in my thirties and forties, I caught up with such a specific good period of the entrepreneurial era, and it was possible to spend money to occupy such a huge industrial risk. As a person with no background and early accumulation, it is one of my greatest fortunes to engage in this.

When we went to Japan, we found that people with entrepreneurial spirit were a little bitter. There has never been a big enterprise in this country in the past few decades, and Japan was very successful in its early years. But later, you see, a mature, rich and developed country basically has no chance. China, who was born in the early 1970s, is in sharp contrast to catch up with such a sad era. If we carve these feelings on a tombstone, we don't know whether it is an encouragement or an inspiration to the people behind us.

Luo Zhenyu: Well, thank you, Luo Yonghao. We had an interview for eight and a half hours, including some very short breaks. At first, some people said it was the longest interview in China's TV history, but when he answered for eight and a half hours, it was already the longest interview in the world's TV history. Nixon's maximum interview time was eight hours, and we far exceeded this time. Because what everyone saw was that he spoke one or two PPT sentences on the stage and abstracted them into some symbols to spread, the mass media in modern society never generously gave him such an opportunity to finish. In fact, our interview today also wants to tell a very simple truth with a product. Does this interview today conform to all the laws of this era? No, media time is so precious and everyone's time is so fragmented.

I think this is a good thing, valuable and not in line with all the laws. Luo Yonghao's mobile phone did that, and today's long interview did that. We firmly believe that it is valuable, and it flies the flag in this era. Thanks, Luo Yonghao.
