What is hot as mother and cold as ding?

This sentence is from the poem "Dropping Tianmu", and Song Qingxian's "Xi Mu Wang Ding" has the poem "Rejoicing Mother, Lengxi Ding".

If they regard gold as their god, they prefer quietness and loneliness, and Jin Xin prefers carving with the sun of fire.

"Cold makes you happy" means that people born in dog days are slow and hot. If they were born in summer, they prefer noisy opinions and need to take part in more group activities. If they were born in winter, they prefer quietness and loneliness. Jin Xin prefers the carving and polishing of Ding Huo and Jia Mu (servants of Jin Xin).
