Shihe River Channel is located on the west side of Zhongshan Mountain Range in Jinzhai County, and flows through Meishan, Ji Ye and Gushi to sanhejian, where it flows into the Huaihe River. Before 1955, this waterway and Xipi River Road jointly undertook the task of material transportation in Jinzhai County. The original150km Meishan-sanhejian waterway passes through Ji Ye and Gushi, and it is not navigable due to the shallow water depth.

During the Republic of China, the main market towns along the Shihe River were equipped with simple docks, Jinjiazhai had upper docks, (freight) docks and lower docks, and Liubo and Mabu towns all had south docks. It is the gateway of passenger and cargo transportation in Meishan Reservoir. Since then, the county forestry department has built a special dock for Xiaoqingfengling 3 kilometers away from the port, which can load and unload bamboo and wood. /kloc-a two-story shipping building was built in Qingfeng Peak in October, 1960, with a building area of 500 square meters and a waiting room of 80 square meters. The annual passenger traffic of Qingfengling Port is1.5 ~ 200,000 passengers, and the freight volume is 20,000 ~ 30,000 tons.

In Meishan reservoir area, there are many natural docks such as Hudian, Xingtian, Hongshiyan, Shangwharf, Gaodaochang and Dingjiabu for passenger and cargo ships to dock.

In the south of Henan Province, Shihe River can be used for wooden boats to sail to Gushi all year round.
