Why do people compare the birth of Fuxi to the opening of the history of divination?

The ancients loved the king of Xi family in the world, looked up at the sky, looked down at the earth, looked at the culture of birds and beasts, and looked at the suitability of the earth, close to all things and far away from all things, so they started gossip to communicate the virtues of gods and the feelings of all things.

Ban Gu said in Records of the Five Elements of Han Dynasty: "According to legend, Liu Xin thought Fu was the queen of heaven and was influenced by the river map, so the rumor was true." Here, the problem of river map is introduced to explain that "the river is illustrated in the Book of Changes, and the book is published, and the sage does it", which shows that Fuxi is the sage who started the gossip. Han people believe that when Fuxi was born in the Yellow River, there were dragons and horses, and Fuxi took the method to draw eight diagrams. This is a typical example of describing history in the form of myth. In a word, Fuxi's gossip is recorded in historical materials.

As for how Fuxi's Eight Diagrams came into being, its specific method has never been known. But as a gossip work, there are two basic symbols, namely Yin (-) and Yang (-), which are the basic elements of gossip. Why do three paintings make hexagrams? Explanators of later generations have divination images, divination numbers and divination positions for reference. "Observing the image in the sky" is above the sky, and "observing the law in the ground" is below, living between heaven and earth, so there is a way of "three talents" or "three poles" to form a divination map, with spatial orientation and four-hour operation. This explanation makes sense. This is an intuitive and symbolic way for the ancients to think about the relationship between man and nature, and it is also the initial expression of China's early civilization, thus becoming the "mother embryo" of China culture.

The Dadiwan and Banpo sites in Xi 'an are roughly in the same period, slightly earlier. They are typical representatives of ancient civilizations 6000~8000 years ago, and they are all located in the Weihe River Basin. According to the archaeological report, the scale of Dadiwan site is rare, and the author has been there personally. Only from the extremely limited cultural relics that have been excavated, including halls, bedrooms, pottery and painted paintings, especially the unique paintings and characters and symbols on painted pottery, we can see that its civilization level has reached a high level. More importantly, the characters and symbols on painted pottery are composed of (-) and (-), that is, Yin and Yang, which is a very interesting phenomenon. It can be proved that gossip, as an abstract cultural symbol, is entirely possible to produce here. Dadiwan site is located in Tianshui, the birthplace of Fuxi.
