Is Ling, the fortune teller of Langmei Temple in Wudang Mountain, the Langmei Temple in Wudang Mountain?
The treasure of Wudang Mountain: "Langmei" turned out to be "yellow egg"
There are many beautiful legends about Langmei in Wudang Mountain.
There is a Langmei Temple on the ancient Shinto leading to Jinding in Wuyaling, Wudang Mountain, which was built in the tenth year of Yongle in Ming Dynasty (14 12). There is a main hall with masonry structure, with a building area of 50 square meters and an area of 900 square meters. 1992 Hubei provincial government allocated special funds to build annex halls, wings, mountain gates, palace walls, etc. , with a building area of 257.5 square meters. According to Wudang Mountain, Langmeitai was built in Yuan Dynasty, located in front of Li Suxi's tomb in Wulong Palace. "There was a plum tree in Wulong and Nanyan in the Ming Dynasty, which was later lost."
Li Shizhen (15 18 ~ 1593) recorded in Compendium of Materia Medica that "Langmei" came from Taihe Mountain in Zhou Jun, and it is said that Zhenwu Zhemei branch was inserted in Shulang. Swear: If I succeed, I will blossom and bear fruit. The consequences are as they say. This tree is still in the north of Wulong Palace, with almond-shaped peach stones. Taoists collect honey and fry it every year to make contributions. Lang is an elm tree. "Langmei" (fruit) is used as medicine, which is sweet, sour, flat and non-toxic. Indications: promoting fluid production to quench thirst, clearing away heart-fire, relieving qi and hangover. It is said that these records come from Li Shizhen's personal inspection in Wudang Mountain. "He heard that there is a fruit called Langmei in Taihe Mountain, and people can live long after eating it. He went to Taihe Mountain specially. The old man guarding the temple at the foot of the mountain told him that the emperor had ordered that plums could only be adopted by the royal family and no one else could pick them. Offenders will be convicted. Li Shizhen is not afraid. He risked his life to go up the mountain at night and picked a few. He took them home to study and found that it was just a kind of fruit similar to elm, not a' fairy fruit' that could live for a long time. " (Zhang Shunhui, editor-in-chief of China ancient literati biography "Li Shizhen Biography") Perhaps it is because he confirmed that tribute fruit is not immortal fruit, but ordinary fruit, so the record of "Langmei" is very simple. But he still revealed very important information in simple words: the tree is still in the north of Wulong Palace; Langmu plum fruit, apricot-shaped peach stone; It is a tribute and a contribution; Lang is elm.
I followed Li Shizhen to Wudang Mountain, and recorded Xu Xiake of Langmei in detail (1586 ~ 164 1). He started traveling at the age of 22, that is, 1609 to 1640. He went to Wudang Mountain at the age of 36. In the third year of the Apocalypse (1623), Xu Xiake traveled north to Songshan, Huashan and Taihe Mountain. Xu Xiake left home on the first day of February, swam across Songshan Mountain in Henan and Huashan Mountain in Shaanxi, entered Huguang on March 11th, arrived in Zhou Jun in the south on the 12th, went up the mountain on the 13th, visited Gong Zheng, Zixiao Palace, Nanyan, Taihe Palace and Wulong Palace along the way, visited Dishuiyan, Xianlv Rock and Lingxu Rock, climbed the Jinding of Tianzhu Peak, went down the mountain on the 15th, and still returned to Caodian at the northern foot. I took a boat trip to Hanshui Yangtze River on 24th and arrived home on April 9th, ending this long trip to Henan, Shaanxi and Hubei.
Xu Xiake not only recorded the "macro-control" of the palace buildings respected by the royal family in the Ming Dynasty, but also described the rare tree species Langmei in detail.
13 ... I passed the worse gate in Southern Yan. Give up visiting Nantianmen to the west and cross the ridge to pay homage to Langxian Temple. Langxian Temple is opposite to Nanyan. There is a very tall Shu Lang in front of the temple, which has no bark at all, standing steadily without a bud. There are many plum trees beside them, all standing upright. The color of plum blossom is as deep as peach blossom and apricot blossom, and the flower base of suspension spring is the shape of begonia flower. Plum blossom and apricot were originally two kinds of trees in the mountains. According to legend, plum blossoms parasitize apricot, forming a strange tree species.
At 14 ... I saw a clearing on a flat mountain, and I went to Qiongtai Temple. There are several plum trees beside the view, all surrounded by one person. The trees are full of plum blossoms, and the colors reflect the hills, making the rocks gorgeous. This place is extremely elegant and the scenery is particularly unusual. I asked for the fruit of the plum tree, but the Taoist in the temple kept silent and dared not agree. After a while, he said, "This is forbidden. In the past, someone took out three or four pieces, and several Taoist priests were implicated, and their families were ruined. " I didn't believe it at first, but I demanded it more vigorously. The Taoist priest took out a few pieces for me. They were all black and rotten, and he didn't tell anyone. When I arrived at the Sino-Thai view, I asked for Langmeiguo again, but the viewer refused politely and said not to ... (I didn't go far) Suddenly someone called me behind. It turns out that the little Taoist priest of Zhongtai Temple came to urge me to go back on the orders of Master. The Lord took my hand and said, "Fortunately, there are two precious trees that you long for, which can satisfy your desire a little.". It's just that once it gets out, evil will come immediately. "Take it out and look carefully. The shape is the same as kumquat, and the juice is the same as honey. The appearance of gold and the texture of jade are not ordinary items.
15 ... over mountains and mountains, there are many protruding stones and tall rocks scattered in lush vegetation along the way. From time to time, there are open plum blossoms, and the gorgeous colors set off the distance ... So I set out from the grass shop and arrived home on the second day of the Buddha Bathing Festival (the eighth day of the fourth lunar month) 24 days later to celebrate my mother's birthday with the plum blossoms on Taihe Mountain. (Zhu's Complete Translation of Xu Xiake's Travels)
What exactly is Langmei? Is it May now? Is it apricot? There is no clear answer in Xu Xiake's narrative. "Lang is an elm tree", Li Shizhen's statement is reasonable. Plum is generally a yellow, round and sour fruit.
Langmei is a unique fruit treasure around Wudang Mountain-yellow egg. 1998, danjiangkou city science and technology commission listed the study of Wudang Langmeishan as a scientific research project. On the basis of consulting ancient literature and according to the record that Xu Xiake lived in Wudang for one night, the members of the research group contacted Yun Qi, Anhui Province, and learned that there was still an ancient Langmei tree growing there-in the fifth year of Jiajing in Ming Dynasty (A.D. 1526), Taoist Fang Qiongzhen visited Wudang and planted Langmei here. Subsequently, trees and their fruits were found in Junxian Town, Guanshan Town, Liangshuihe Town, Sanguandian Office, Wulong Palace and other places in Wudang Mountain.
According to relevant reports, among them, Huangjiacao Village in Junxian Town has the largest population in the city, with more than 30 trees, which have been planted continuously for more than 200 years from the early Qing Dynasty to now. Because the fruit is light yellow in color and shaped like a duck egg, Xunxian people call it "yellow egg". Because the shape and taste are close to apricot, people around Wulong Palace in Wudang Mountain call it "bag apricot". Residents near Sanguan Hall and Liangshui River call it "Huang An". Its tree shape, color and fruit characteristics are completely consistent with those described in ancient books, such as "red and white in color", "metallographic jade" and "peach pit apricot, sweet and sour in taste".
During 1999 and 2000, it was confirmed by Institute of Botany of Jiangsu Academy of Sciences and Huazhong Agricultural University that Prunus armeniaca was a long-standing indigenous species in Wudang Mountain. Professor Sun Meihua of Huazhong Agricultural University thinks that "this variety may be a natural hybrid of apricot and plum", "superior quality" and "it is an excellent tree species with broad development prospects". In a word, Wudang Langmei is today's yellow egg, Huang An and bagged apricot. Danjiangkou city plans to register with relevant institutions in the name of "Langmei" to fill a blank of plant species in China.
