Redefinition of the main urban area of Hangzhou in 2023

The main urban area of Hangzhou in 2023 is divided as follows:

Hangzhou's "super new main city" has expanded to 880 square kilometers. Specifically, Yuhang District, Xiaoshan District, Linping District and Qiantang District are newly incorporated into the main city:

Yuhang District-Old Yuhang, Witkey Core, Idle Forest, Gouzhuang and Yuncheng;

Xiaoshan District-Qianjiang Century City, Ningwei, Shibei, Xiaoke and Yan Wen;

Linping District-Nanrong Plate, Linping New Town Core Area, Linping Old Town, Xingqiao and Chongxian;

Qiantang District-Jinsha Lake, Xiasha Development Zone, Xiasha Riverside, North of University Town and Xiasha Source City;

Yinhu Plate at the bridgehead of Ronghang in Fuyang District, Joy in Xiaoshan District, Nanhu in Yuhang District, the southern marginal mountainous area of Xihu District, Banshan in Gongshu District and Gaoting Mountain in Shangcheng District are not included in the central city. Yan Wen Plate and Shuangpu, partially including; Riverside Puyan, all included in the central city of Hangzhou.

Looking back on the work report of Hangzhou municipal government in February this year, the concept of "one master and six assistants" in Hangzhou was put forward for the first time. "One master" is to be an excellent main city. The main urban area mainly refers to the core urban area, which is the core area where Hangzhou embodies the functions of the central city of the Yangtze River Delta and the capital of Zhejiang, and shows the charm of world famous cities. "Six auxiliary cities", including Xiaoshan, Liangzhu, Qiantang, Linping, Fuyang and Lin 'an; "Three cities", namely Tonglu, Chun 'an and Jiande.

In other words, the goal of Hangzhou, an 880-square-kilometer "super new main city", is to be excellent. This large-scale expansion adjustment will conform to the new spatial pattern of Hangzhou's mega-city with a population of 10 million, and also reflect Hangzhou's position as the central city of the Yangtze River Delta and the core area of Zhejiang's provincial capital. In the future, Hangzhou will build a new spatial pattern of multi-center, networked, organized and ecological mega-cities, and build a beautiful new Hangzhou with high standards.
