Why is Leizhou called an important place?

Leizhou is a national historical and cultural city, located at the southernmost tip of Chinese mainland (between 2115 ′ ~ 2120 ′,10922 ′ ~1027 ′), with a low latitude. Surrounded by the sea on three sides, it is affected by the maritime monsoon all the year round, and the temperature difference between land and sea is large; Moreover, there are many typhoons in summer and autumn, so there are many thunderstorms. It is one of the two most famous minefields in the world (the other is Java Island in Indonesia). The ancients named Leizhou "Leizhou" because it often had thunderstorms in spring and summer. At the same time, they believe that thunder is the god who rules nature, so they worship it.

West Lake, a scenic spot in the city, was named "Luohu" in ancient times. In May of the 4th year of Song Zhe Zongshaosheng (1097), Su Shi, a great writer, was relegated from Huizhou to Danzhou, Hainan, and lived on the lake with his younger brother Su Zhe (living in Leizhou), loving its beautiful scenery and lingering. Ren Lei is a saint, and it was only when Luohu became the "West Lake". The Ten Immortals Temple is built in the scenic spot to commemorate the famous ministers of the Song Dynasty, such as Kou Zhun, Li Gang, Hu Quan, Qin Guan, Su Shi, Su Zhe, Li Guang, Ren and Wang, who successively relegated or passed through Leizhou, bringing advanced Central Plains culture. The ancients generally "learned to be an official", and farmers' children were promoted and admitted to the examination before they embarked on their official careers. However, many villains around emperors often slandered dissidents, so many honest and knowledgeable people were relegated to the frontier. Leizhou is far from the capital, and the land is barren, so it is often used as a place of exile. Under the traffic conditions at that time, Su Shi and others were relegated from Kaifeng in the capital of song dynasty to Hainan. The ancients were able to go so far (though reluctantly), and many farmers in modern times certainly never walked out of the mountains or the county seat.

There is a Leizu Temple in the suburbs, which is a national key cultural relics protection unit. Built in the Zhenguan period of the Tang Dynasty, it is the ancestral hall to commemorate Chen Wenyu (Leizu), the first secretariat of Leizhou in the Tang Dynasty, with a history of 1300 years. There is also a beautiful legend: the folklore Chen Wenyu is a demigod and demigod hero full of magical colors-during the period of Chen Taijian, there was a villager named Chen Hong in Baiyuan Village, Wuli, southwest of Guhe Prefecture, who made a living by hunting. I have a dog with nine ears at home. Every time I go hunting, my ears ring, and everything I hunt corresponds to my ears. One day, nine ears moved together, and Chen replied, I will gain a lot today! "Then invited its neighbors more than ten people, with the northern Ulun Mountain. The mountain is densely covered with thorns, and the dog barks from morning till night, and no wild animal comes out. The hunter was surprised to see the dog dig out a big egg from the ground. Chen didn't know what it was, so he took it home. The next morning, it was overcast with lightning and thunder. Chen was so scared that he put the eggs in court. Suddenly, the egg was opened by a thunderbolt, and a boy jumped out, with words written on the left and "Zhou" on the right. Chen reported the boy to the state government, which collected eggshells and sent them to the library. The boy was brought up by Chen and named. Yu Wen is clever and diligent. When I grow up, my skills are unparalleled, and my martial arts are unparalleled. He has been recommended many times. However, Yu Wen refused to be an official on the grounds that his parents were old. He once said to himself, "A gentleman should not be intimate. "He is willing to ask questions and is willing to spend the rest of his life happily with his parents." Nine times out of ten, Mr. and Mrs. Chen died in Tang Zhenguan for two years. Yu Wen has been guarding the mausoleum for three years. During this period, there were Li, Yao, Zhuang, Tea, Dong, Miao and other ethnic minorities in Leizhou, and they often picked fights with each other, causing chaos. In order to stabilize the frontier, the Tang Dynasty appointed the native Chen Wenyu as the state secretariat. During Chen Wenyu's term of office, he thoroughly investigated the bureaucracy, patrolled the territory, eliminated the sufferings of the people, coexisted politics and religion, lived and worked in peace and contentment, made the people rich, and changed their customs greatly. In addition to implementing the policy of virtue, Yu Wen deeply feels that the country is an important place in the south, and there are things in the four seas, which is a battleground for military strategists. In order to make Li Shu peaceful, he completely transformed the city. When public funds were not enough, he donated his salary, and renamed Guhezhou Leizhou without spending money. The name of Leizhou began in the eighth year of Zhenguan in Tang Dynasty (AD 634) and is still in use today. On the fifteenth day of the first month of the twelfth year of Zhenguan in the Tang Dynasty, just as the work of the city was over, Wen Yu grew wings and ascended to heaven during the day. When the officials saw it, they all knelt down to the ground. Yu Wen is 68 years old. In memory of this local official, the county people set up a shrine in Yingbang Mountain, five miles southwest of Zhoucheng, which is today's "Leizu Temple". Erjin Hall is the main building of the temple, which is divided into the main hall and the east and west halls. There is a worship pavilion in front of the main hall. The whole building is arranged in a "convex" shape, which is dedicated to Chen Wenyu (middle), Li Taiwei (Li Guang in Han Dynasty, left) and Yingshan Stone God (right) in turn, commonly known as "the three halls of Leici". There are many myths and legends about Leizu Temple, one of which is a beautiful legend about a stone man in the Millennium: In Kaiping for four years in the Five Dynasties, the robber Fu and others refused to pay taxes and food, advocated chaos, and incited ethnic disputes, which made Leizhou restless. The imperial envoys all know Sima Chenxiang, who led the 12 ship to encircle. At that time, Fu and others were stationed in the teacher's temple. Because the court officers and soldiers were not familiar with the situation, they were invincible. Later, Zhen Chen prayed for Lei Zu and posted a list of recruits in front of the temple. The next day, when the war resumed, Sean saw Lei Zu Chen Wenyu and Han Taiwei Li Guang cooperate with Yin Binglai to help. The battle was won, but the thief was finally caught. At night, Sean dreamed of Lei Zuwang's eyes: "The thief came to me, and I was locked in front of the temple and turned into a stone man." I woke up at dawn and saw four stone figures kneeling in the temple, one of whom was killed. Leizhou was peaceful from then on, and Sean and others paid homage to Leizu and learned about it from the court. In the second year of Kaiping, it was changed to Gan Yuan, and the court ordered the county to rebuild Leizu Temple, and built Li Taiwei Temple in the west of Leizu Temple, and set up a statue of Taiwei, which was listed as "three halls of Lei Zi" together with Yingshan Stone God.

There is also a Sanyuanta Park outside the city, which is a provincial-level cultural relics protection unit. It is said that three snake eggs were found when the foundation was broken, which is a sign of ternary harmony, hence the name Sanyuan Qixiu Tower. There are museums, stone dog halls and Ergong Temple in the park. People in Leizhou regard dogs as "auspicious spirits". In front of the city gate, village entrance, ancient road, alley, doorway, Shuikou or ancient tomb, they will definitely see a stone dog carved from basalt rock. Being worshipped like a stone lion guarding the door has become a unique folk culture in Leizhou. Leizhou in ancient times was a place where hundreds of ethnic groups gathered, and each ethnic group and tribe had their own totem worship. This is because of backward productivity and naive thinking. Faced with various phenomena in nature, they can't be subdued and explained. They think this is the trend of God's will, so they rely on the shape of everything as a totem to protect peace. Li, Liao and Gelao all make a living by farming and hunting, so they take animals that protect crops and have the ability to take care of hunting as totems. So in ancient times, the word "dog" was added to the names of their tribes, which was not an insult to their uncivilized species, but a sign of their totem worship. Li, Liao, Yao, Tong and other ethnic minorities from the middle and lower reaches of the Yellow River were the early ancestors living in Leizhou. Gelao people take cats as totems, Li people take raccoons as totems, and Yao people take dogs as totems. Later, they tamed the dog and used it as a totem while engaged in production. Ancient Leizhou, smoky, sparsely populated. People are eager for dogs to bring good news to your son. Therefore, stone dogs sculpt huge genitals to show male masculinity, which is the object of worship for people to pursue reproduction and development. As the "patron saint" of one side, the stone dog is placed in the necessary place where people often go in and out. Over time, its ferocious and majestic face always makes people feel unfriendly. As a result, the ancestors of Leizhou, who advocated ethics, artistically reshaped the image of the stone dog, carving it into a grin and a smile to show its kindness, such as being a master of ceremonies to welcome guests. From then on, the stone dog was called "master of ceremonies". The stone dogs in Leizhou changed from "totem" to "auspicious spirit" to "patron saint" and "master of ceremonies", which reflected the progress of Leizhou ancestors in understanding and transforming nature. Shigou is composed of basalt (commonly known as bluestone), which is a rock formed by volcanic eruption and magma dissolution.

After the Tang and Five Dynasties, the Han people in the Central Plains and southern Fujian moved a lot of mines to escape the war. Their civilization and religious beliefs had a great influence on the ordinary people of Baiyue in Leizhou, and were accepted by them. Most people in Liliaotong yearned for internal belonging and joined the Han nationality. Some of them continued to live in Leizhou, while others moved to Hainan to become Li people today. Others moved to Guangxi and Yunnan, becoming today's Zhuang people. There have been many scholars in Leizhou history. Among them, Chen Changgong of Ergong Temple obtained a bachelor's degree from the imperial court, and he compiled many bibliographies. Among them, Chen Changgong's family precepts are good and still have reference significance: as long as the family is diligent, don't wait for six relatives when lying down. Friends and relatives are all broken by poverty, and the flesh and blood without money are idle people. Tell you to get up early no matter how late it is. A good wife is poor, but a dutiful son needs a ancestral field. Wealth will prevail in the future, but you will guard it, and there will always be people who are unlucky. I bought fifty Fugui Fang. Taigong used to be a fisherman. If you want to be rich and ambitious, don't gamble except spending money on abstinence. Gambling is because the water is deep, and drinking half drunk is obscene. Be happy as an adulterer's wife and daughter, and don't think about being an adulterer in the future.
