I have been to many ancient towns, but I have never seen an ancient town hidden deep between peaks and valleys. A little higher is guarded by castles and ancient villages, and a little lower is guarded by watchtowers and city gates, so it is commonly known as "closed gate field" and "closed gate field". I have never seen an ancient town known as "the first dry dock on the Yangtze River", which is both a dangerous pass and a thoroughfare of "one foot in three counties". I have never seen an ancient town built in the Song Dynasty so well preserved until today.

Until I went to Shengfeng Ancient Town in Banan District.

Fengshengchang has always been the main traffic route from Banan to Nanchuan and Fuling, and the name of "Shengfeng" was decided in the late Qing Dynasty. The valleys on the hillside around the ancient town are steep and steep, and the mountains are all shaped like scarabs, which are combined into a strange picture of "nine turtles looking for their mother". There is a rectangular rich town in the mouth of the mother turtle. There are more than 60 underground caves in the territory, and the mountain streams sound like harps all the year round, geysers, fish caves, Ziyun sounding stones and hundreds of acres of maple leaf forests covering hillsides and valleys, carefully nourishing and enclosing this pearl in a landscape.

This strange building left by our ancestors is so rich. Gufengchang is like a small town. Up to now, a large number of well-preserved palaces, temples, halls, courtyards, pavilions, streets, shops, shops, houses and other buildings in the Ming and Qing Dynasties have been preserved. Fushou Street, Cross Street, Banbian Street, Jiangxi Street, Shouzi Street and Changning Street, which are connected end to end, connect this ancient town in series. Just walking into one street is enough to feast your eyes all the way.

On both sides of the old street are 2-3 floors of shops, all wooden bucket structure. Shiban Street twists and turns, connecting luxury houses and residential houses with wooden buildings. There are many Ming and Qing buildings with blue bricks and tiles, tenon and mortise structures and carved wooden windows on the street. The courtyards behind the street are mostly quadrangles with blue bricks and black tiles, and the ground floor is on the third or second floor. Their eaves, halls, doors and windows are decorated with various patterns, which have a typical Huizhou style. Large families also have courtyard towers, and each courtyard has its own system and characteristics. The shops on Shiban Street have two floors, with people living upstairs and shops downstairs, all with wooden walls and doors.

Cross street is the most prosperous commercial street in the ancient town, which is formed by the intersection of east-west and north-south streets. In addition to common grocery stores, department stores, hotels and food stores, primitive shops and hand-made workshops with folk characteristics are more noticeable, such as hand-made scales, hand-made cotton, brooms with sorghum ears, Chinese herbal medicine shops, old-fashioned barber shops with swivel chairs, and workshops for making various local delicacies. The local specialties here are as rich as traditional foods, such as smoked dried bean curd, delicious roasted bacon, secret rice candy, handmade noodles, freshly squeezed walnuts and peanuts, as well as Tan Chen old wine, pickles in jars, and quick-fried soybeans. It is said that it was necessary for horse drivers in the past. Poke it all the way with a toothpick and taste it. It will be seven points full. There is a big street with the word "Shou" written on one wall. There are also many teahouses and restaurants. Besides tourists, there are many local residents enjoying tea and eating. In a tofu shop, several middle-aged and elderly people are having dinner. Everyone on the table has a bowl of tofu, a small dish dipped in sauce, a glass of white wine and a bowl of dry rice. Only after asking did I know that this is a "five-yuan tofu shop" specially opened for the elderly in the town-five-yuan tofu, with its own wine and enough white rice. An old man took a sip of wine and said with a smile: every day is full of food and drink, enough, enough. It seems that people in this town not only know how to have a good harvest and live frugally, but also know the mystery that this light diet is conducive to longevity.

Indeed, Shengfeng is a famous "hometown of longevity". Among the 90-year-old people, there are still many people who can pick fertilizer, hoe, farm and do business, and their bodies are very strong. I think: this ancient town preserved by history and bred by the environment has given people such a rich living space. No wonder people in this town are satisfied.

Shengfeng Ancient Town is located in Shengfeng Town, Banan. Founded in the Northern Song Dynasty, it flourished in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. It has a history of thousands of years.
