Who knows the historical origin of the hidden temple in Matou Town, Taikang County?

1, Matouyin Temple, built in the area of Mosque Street in Matou Town, Tancheng in the third year of Yongle in Ming Dynasty, is one of the ancient Muslim temples in Tancheng. Matouyin Temple covers an area of 13 mu with a building area of 870 square meters. The overall architectural style is China palace architecture and Islamic national architecture. There are south lecture hall, north lecture hall, east hall, water room, ancient well pavilion, gatehouse and full moon building in the temple. Matouyin Temple is the largest and most intact national temple in southern Jiangsu.

The mosque faces south, and the whole building complex has reasonable layout, grand scale, simple and elegant decoration, quiet and solemn, and has the characteristics of China palace architecture and Islamic national architecture.

2. The plane of the temple is rectangular, with a total area of 13 mu and a building area of 870 square meters. The entrance hall is a small courtyard, surrounded by a flower wall 6 meters wide, 8 meters deep and 3 meters high. This small courtyard is the center of the whole temple. The temple is divided into three parts by the wall: East Courtyard, West Courtyard and South Courtyard. In this way, the scope of religious affairs activities of each hall is delineated, and the Yuemen Tunnel directly runs through it without separation. The overall layout is appropriate and rigorous, just like one.

1983, a new "moon-watching building" was built behind the Hall of the Great Hero, which is a fasting moon-watching building in Mu Min. During the period of 1997, the East Hall and the South Lecture Hall were repaired. The cornice design, door lattice decoration and the architectural style of the main hall are integrated, which makes this hall for teaching activities more solemn and elegant.

In the temple, the century-old Sophora japonica, Toona sinensis and Ginkgo biloba are tall and straight, with evergreen flowers and trees dotted in it. The southernmost part is Baihui Garden and the downtown area, which is the cemetery of Imams in past dynasties. There are a Catalpa bungeana, a Sophora japonica and a Ginkgo biloba in this area, which were planted in the Ming Dynasty.
