Yongji city is a county-level city, under the jurisdiction of Yuncheng, not in other areas.

Yongji city is located in the core of the Golden Triangle of Shanxi, Shaanxi, Henan and the Yellow River, and is the "South Gate" of Shanxi. It is bounded by the "Mother River" in the west, Zhongtiao Mountain in the south, Emei Mountain in the north, Wuhu Lake in the abdomen and Sushui River in the north.

Yongji has a long history and is the capital of Shun in history. In the pre-Qin period, it was called "Pu", and in 2 15 BC, Qin Shihuang changed Pu to Puban; In 370 AD, Yongzhou was founded and later changed to Taizhou and Zhou Pu. Zeng Jianzhong was one of the "six big cities" in Tang Dynasty, and was called "the house in the river".

Yongji County was established in the sixth year of Yongzheng in Qing Dynasty (1728), and the title of "Yongji" has been used ever since. 1947 Yongji was liberated, and the county government was moved from the original Zhou Pu City to the current site; 1994 1 month, the county was withdrawn and the city was established.
