Fortune Telling Collection - Comprehensive fortune-telling - Writing skills of fresh graduates' resumes
Writing skills of fresh graduates' resumes
Many "new job seekers" spend money on "talent evaluation" in various "talent evaluation institutions" in order to gain an evaluation report that can prove their abilities and increase their competitiveness. However, we have to warn you that at present, some so-called "evaluation institutions" (including some schools) in society regard evaluation as "fortune telling", which is not scientific at all, and it is impossible for employers to treat you differently.
Generally speaking, a complete resume should include the following eight parts:
First of all, it is personal basic information:
1. Name: required. There seems to be no doubt about it. You have to let HR people know who you are, or you won't know what to call you in the interview. We have done this very well, and we have never met anyone who forgot to write his name. Of course, for a person who forgets to write his name, HR people are absolutely afraid to hire him. There is a simple reason. He can forget his own name. What else can't he forget?
2, gender: it is best to write. Most girls don't write their gender on their resumes, probably because they are afraid of being discriminated against, but most HR can tell their gender from their names. Even if your name is neutral, it will still be exposed in the interview. If the employer is sexist, the chances of getting a job are relatively small. So it is better to indicate the gender.
3. Age: It doesn't matter, you can write if you want, and it doesn't matter if you don't want to write. Generally speaking, college students who have just graduated are not old. Besides, HR people don't check their hukou, but some graduate students may be older when they graduate, and they are often discriminated against by age because they are 35 years old. It is suggested that these graduates should not write their age, otherwise they will deny other advantages because of their age, and even have no chance to interview.
4. Education, degree and major: It must be noted that this is one of the key words that HR people are most concerned about.
5. Political views: It depends. If it is not party member, it is generally not written; If it is party member, when sending large state-owned enterprises and institutions, it must be noted that these units still attach great importance to whether they are from party member. Therefore, under the same conditions, party member has an absolute advantage, but it has little influence when delivering goods to foreign companies or private enterprises.
6. Height and weight: As the case may be, it is generally unnecessary to write unless your height and weight can give you extra points. Looking for a job is not a beauty contest. Most jobs do not require the height and weight of the incumbent. And for some people whose height and weight are not very standard, premature exposure of some irrelevant information is likely to make you lose the opportunity to show your other advantages. There is a simple reason. Job seekers can't clearly know the selection criteria of HR, so try to show their advantages and eliminate the interference in their resumes. Of course, if the job requirements clearly indicate the height and weight requirements, or if you are looking for a job similar to a model or a flight attendant, you must indicate the height and weight.
7. Contact information: Must be available. Without contact information, HR people can't contact you. How can they receive the interview notice? Now mobile phones have basically become popular. Therefore, it is advisable to leave your personal mobile phone number in your resume, and pay attention to keep your mobile phone calls open so as not to miss the call notice from HR. Many people like to put the location of contact information in the front, while HR suggestions can be put in the back, because no recruiter is interested in your contact information as soon as he comes up, so it is better to put important information in the front.
In addition, some graduates' resumes will state their physical condition, often in two words: OK, it is not necessary. At present, most enterprises will organize employees to have some routine physical examinations before signing formal contracts with employees, which need not be reflected in resumes.
Secondly, it is work intention:
The column of job intention is difficult to write for two reasons. First, the fresh graduates did not take part in the work and did not have a deep understanding of the work. Many graduates have no clear concept of what they can and want to do when writing resumes. Second, the resumes of recent graduates are not targeted. Many people's resumes are one-stop, and there are countless positions written on their job intentions, some of which span a lot and have no connection. This is actually a confusing practice. He seems to be a generalist who can do everything, but he has no clear purpose. HR people don't know what you can do. This mentality of job seekers is understandable. There are actually two ways to solve this problem. One is to be clear about your purpose, you can see what brothers and sisters do, have a general understanding, and then choose according to your own interests. Another way is to prepare several different resumes, each with only one job intention, and the rest of the resume is written around this theme, so that the resume will look more interesting.
Graduates should also remember that it is good to have ideals and ambitions, but a company often recruits graduates from the grassroots. So don't write too much work intention, try to choose some grass-roots positions, and write positions such as strategic management and manager from the beginning, which will make HR feel that your goal is too high. It is better to leave such a big thing to those leaders or experienced people to do.
In addition, HR revealed that many large enterprises rarely look at job seekers' job hunting intentions when recruiting fresh graduates. In the eyes of enterprises, graduates are extremely flexible. After the graduates are hired, the enterprise will carry out on-the-job training to transform the graduates into the talents needed by the enterprise in practical work. Therefore, they generally pay little attention to graduates' job hunting intentions.
Third, education/learning experience:
There is nothing to say about this, just two points: first, some graduates will write about their own middle school studies, which is unnecessary, starting from college, unless your resume is really empty; Second, some graduates may have participated in some relevant skills training at school, and these training experiences should also be included in their resumes.
Four, work experience/social practice:
Generally speaking, fresh graduates have little work experience, so in the recruitment process, HR people don't emphasize this very much. As for social practice, you can write down your internship or other experiences in school, such as being a minister in the student union, what you have done, what you have done and what you have achieved. In the process of writing, you must focus on the details, not just the general. For example, I am the life minister of the student union and organized a debate in the department. This is not very detailed, but you should briefly say what you have done and what role you played in the debate.
Remember, this part of your resume can't be made up casually. You think it's perfect, but the interviewer often exposes you in a few words.
The most common situation is that some graduates will write that they are student union cadres, and rarely see what they have never been to, which will make HR doubt the authenticity. However, there are some exceptions. A HR once happened to see a resume with a certificate of appointment of a student union cadre. This is not to say how high the gold content of this certificate is. At least the seal of the student union is much more credible than empty talk.
In addition, work experience or social practice should focus on writing, rather than grasping the beard and eyebrows together. If it is something, it should be written in the front and the priorities should be clear.
Fifth, the curriculum:
Graduates often just list the courses they have studied, which is disorganized, and HR people look chaotic and annoying. Graduates are advised to classify courses. For example, management students can divide their courses into management, marketing, accounting, finance, economics, etc., so that HR can see your courses at a glance and be more targeted.
In addition, when graduates list courses, they should pick out the courses related to the positions they are applying for, instead of writing down all the courses they have learned.
Sixth, computer and foreign language level:
Generally speaking, enterprises do not require graduates to pass the computer level. Even if they pass the computer level, it is not necessarily how good the computer is, what's more, many contents of the computer level exam are not used at work. Therefore, as long as you list some commonly used office software in your resume, including WORD, EXCEL and PPT, you can use it skillfully.
Foreign language proficiency is expressed as CET-4 or CET-6. When many graduates write English ability, the common word is good listening, speaking, reading and writing ability. Actually, this is a very vague concept. If possible, you should be more specific, such as being able to communicate freely with foreigners, or winning any prize in a certain competition, which will make you more competitive and let HR people better understand how excellent you are.
VII. Awards/Certificates/Scientific Research Achievements:
All winners should be noted down, such as scholarships and outstanding cadres.
Some certificates will increase the chances of getting an interview, which is why many students are keen on textual research. Some certificates may not be obtained in one exam, such as the note meeting. Some students think that you can't write it on your resume without obtaining a certificate. Actually, this is not right. You can write down the subjects you passed on your resume, and don't inadvertently erase your advantages.
Scientific research achievements only include graduation thesis or published articles, and enterprises generally don't expect graduates to have any scientific research achievements.
Eighth, it is a specialty/hobby:
Many graduates will list many words here, for example, cheerful personality, enthusiasm, careful work, high work efficiency, hard work, strong organizational ability and so on. To highlight their Excellence, but in fact, HR people basically don't look at these special words. If you want to attract the attention of HR people, you might as well pick a few words at random and give a simple example behind them to prove it. For example, if you say that you have strong organizational skills, you can say that you organized an activity independently, which was well received by the department and praised by the school. Work-related majors must be written. For example, if you say that your writing level is good, HR people may mistakenly think that you are a master of writing prose and poetry, which will not help your work much, but if you state that you are very good at writing practical articles and various reports, it will be simple and clear; In addition, it is best not to write about specialties and hobbies that have nothing to do with the position, such as various ball games and singing. These specialties and hobbies need to be displayed in the future work, not in the resume. If you write too many resumes, you will lose focus.
After writing the above eight parts, it is basically a complete resume. If the text is fluent, concise, clear and focused, it can be regarded as an excellent resume. The following parts can be considered whether it is necessary to increase according to the actual situation:
First of all, attach an English cover letter and an English resume. Although not all units have higher requirements for English, they are not overwhelmed by many skills. An excellent English resume will be more convincing and demonstrate English ability than "good English listening, speaking, reading and writing skills". However, it should be noted that many graduates' English resumes are not very clever, but simply translated Chinese resumes, and many of them are even translated casually with translation software, which is very blunt. Such an English resume can't give you extra points, or even fail. Therefore, the most basic thing of an English resume is that there can be no spelling mistakes and grammatical mistakes. Don't simply translate a Chinese resume. You'd better find someone who knows English to help polish it.
Secondly, the school recommendation letter and report card: Many HR think that the recommendation letter is just a blank piece of paper with the official seal of the school, and the contents inside are basically written by the students themselves, which is not credible. It doesn't matter whether it is attached or not. Of course, it is best if your department head is willing to write a true recommendation letter for you. Transcripts can help HR people understand students' learning attitude and efforts from the side. If they get good grades, high grade points and top rankings during their studies, they must attach and mark them in a prominent position on their resumes. If their grades are average, they may or may not be attached. If they have a history of failure in make-up exams during their college years, they must not attach them.
Third, copies of various certificates: unless explicitly requested by the enterprise, they are generally not required to be attached. General enterprises will require employees to show the original relevant certificates after the interview or when they report for duty, which is more convincing than the copy.
As for school profile, professional introduction and other things, not to mention. If you study in an institution like Peking University and Tsinghua, you generally know other institutions. If HR doesn't know, he will ask in the interview. If you talk about your school very well, but most people have never heard of it, your speech will be hard to convince, and may even affect others' judgment on the authenticity of your resume.
Finally, to sum up, what should you pay attention to when writing a resume:
First, the resume should be simple, one or two pages is enough, don't attach anything important, the format should be innovative, and HR should not think it is filling out a form.
Second, the resume should highlight the key points, and the information that you want to convey most must be prominent, so that HR can see it at a glance.
Third, check and re-check, and don't have obvious word and sentence errors in your resume.
Fourth, speak with facts and write less empty words.
