The Chen family in Xianyou County, Putian City, Fujian Province (transmission, development, its, auspicious, filial piety, thinking, courtesy and righteousness) (generation) is looking for roots in Xianyou County, Putian City, Fujian Province! Xianyou Chen Ancestral Hall is located in Neijie, Licheng Town, Xianyou. It was initiated by a scholar in Jiaqing period of Qing Dynasty, Chen of Hanlin Academy. This building is huge and magnificent. The main building consists of upper and lower halls and central patio, with four inclined halls and four guardrails on both sides, and eight rectangular patios and wings behind. The building area is about 2000 square meters, in front of which is a big square paved with red bricks, with a total area of about 3000 square meters.

In the 1960s, Xianyou Normal Primary School moved from the east of the city to run a school here. In the summer vacation of 2000, in order to expand the playground, the school had to demolish the original Chen ancestral hall. After many consultations between Xianyou Chen and the representatives of the affiliated primary school, the school agreed to rebuild the main building of the original Chen Ancestral Hall (using the original wood and moving it to the southwest corner of the affiliated primary school). The rebuilt Chen Ancestral Hall is a brick-wood structure, with upper and lower halls and a patio in the center, with a construction area of 500 square meters. Mr. Chen Lan, an overseas Chinese living in Malaysia, and overseas Chinese from the United States and Hong Kong compatriots came to the ancestral temple to have a cordial conversation with their relatives and enhance friendship. Mr Chen Lan also generously bought equipment for the ancestral hall.

As a traditional culture and folk culture, Xianyou Chen Ancestral Hall continues to serve as a place to worship ancestors and carry forward ancestors' virtues, a place to seek roots and make friends overseas, a classroom to commemorate sages and conduct ideological and moral education, and a center for cultural activities for the elderly, and plays an active role in the construction of spiritual civilization.
