Kaifeng, one of the six ancient capitals of China, was the capital of the Northern Song Dynasty 167. At that time, Song and Beijing were extremely prosperous and the palace buildings were brilliant. Unfortunately, when the Jin people invaded Kaifeng, most of the buildings in the Song Palace were burned down. Later, after many wars, the Yellow River burst its banks, and this magnificent palace was gone. In the past, only a new building, the Dragon Pavilion, was left on the ruins of the imperial palace, but this dragon pavilion was built in the Qing Dynasty. Long Ting sits facing south and perches on the pedestal. There are 72 steps from the ground to the main hall. In the middle of the steps are stone steps engraved with Yunlong patterns. Starting from the avenue in front of Long Ting, passing through Panyang Lake, and further south, it is still a straight avenue with shops on both sides. This avenue was a broad imperial avenue in history.

Now this avenue has been transformed into "Song Duyu Street" according to the pattern of the Riverside Map at Qingming Festival, with a length of about 400 meters. The shops on both sides are imitation buildings of the Song Dynasty, mainly selling local products, handicrafts, calligraphy and painting. The famous Fan Lou in the Song Dynasty was also restored according to the pattern of "three stories high, five stories opposite, overpass cornices, light and shade connected", mainly engaged in high-grade food and royal dishes in the Northern Song Dynasty Palace. This street is connected with Long Ting Park and has become a scenic spot with the characteristics of Song Dynasty.

Long Ting used to be the former site of the Golden Palace in the Northern Song Dynasty, and the Zhou Palace in the Ming Dynasty was built here.
