Nanhai temple. Nanhai Temple, also known as Boluo Temple, is located at No.2 Xuri Street, Miaotou Village, Huangpu District, Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province. It is the only largest and most complete of the four sea temples in China. Nanhai Temple is the place where the ancient emperors of China offered sacrifices to Poseidon. It was built in the 14th year of Emperor Kai of Sui Dynasty (AD 594). After the Tang Dynasty, it reached its peak in the Song Dynasty, and gradually declined after the Republic of China.
