Laiwu Technician College was founded in 1985, and was rebuilt on the basis of Jinan Laiwu Senior Technical School with the approval of Shandong Provincial People's Government. The college has 24 majors, including metal cutting, mechanical assembly and repair, welding technology, electrical technology, automobile maintenance, CNC machine tools and so on. Among them, electrical technology and welding technology were rated as provincial key and famous brands, and included in the top 100 majors in the province.

The college is located in Laiwu High-tech Industrial Development Zone, Jinan City, Shandong Province. It is a "national key technical school" which mainly trains technicians and senior technicians and has various training functions. 20 13 was identified as "National Model School for the Reform and Development of Secondary Vocational Education" by the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security and the Ministry of Finance in April.
