The Turkish killer has entered the testing stage.

As a regional power across Europe and Asia, Turkey has always wanted to intervene in the affairs of neighboring countries, from Syria to Libya, but its own strength is not enough. Neither of the two local wars benefited. There are reasons for this, such as the right time, the right place and the right people, as well as the reasons why their own military equipment is subject to people.

To become a real military power, we must develop all kinds of advanced weapons. On May 19, 2020, according to the Belgian Air Force appraisal website, the Turkish Ministry of Defence announced that Turkey had successfully tested its locally developed HGK-84 laboratory laser-guided bomb. The Turkish Ministry of Defence said on Twitter: "The HGK-84 laboratory (precision guidance kit -84 laser seeker) produced by our domestic facilities has been successfully tested."

In this regard, many fans of the Turkish army said that the successful test of the laser-guided bomb in the HGK-84 laboratory shows that Turkey officially has domestic precision strike weapons, although such weapons are not as advanced as air-to-surface missiles. But compared with conventional ammunition, it is already very powerful.

We don't have the specific performance parameters of the laser-guided bomb in HGK-84 laboratory, but we can learn about this weapon by studying the same JDAM guided bomb in the United States. HGK-84 is a kind of GPS/INS (Global Positioning System/Inertia) guidance kit, which can turn ordinary aerial bombs into guided bombs for precision strikes. When in use, it only takes 10 minutes to assemble HGK-84 on the body of an aviation bomb. It is very convenient and quick to use.

The HGK-84 guidance tool consists of a guidance module and a control module. The control module has all kinds of pneumatic wings, and the flight direction of the weapon is changed by the action of the wings under the control instruction issued by the guidance module. Because the bomb itself has no power, this weapon does not have much room for adjustment in the air, and it is basically fine-tuning.

So its strike error is above 10 meter, but if military GPS navigation is adopted, the error of this weapon can reach 1 meter! Similar to air-to-surface missiles. Of course, the military GPS administration needs the United States to open to Turkey, considering that Turkey is not a hardcore ally of the United States. Therefore, the hit error of this weapon in Turkey is less than 1 m, but the prospect is good.

In addition to the defect of hit accuracy, Turkey's HGK-84 laboratory-guided bomb also has the problem of short legs. The maximum range of the same Jeddah guided bomb in the United States is only about 15 km. In the modern battlefield environment, this attack distance is very close. Considering that the Turkish Air Force has not obtained air superiority in Syria, it will be more difficult to use such weapons in Syria.

Of course, neither mistakes nor short legs are the most deadly to use this weapon. What really makes the guided bomb made in Turkey useless is the GPS jammer.

Once this jammer is turned on, it will shield any signals around it, and precision guided ammunition needs GPS signals to be repaired at all times. Without the signal, the direction can't be corrected, and the precision guided ammunition will become an ordinary bomb. Turkey's efforts will be in vain.

With the above three defects, Turkey's HGK-84 laboratory laser-guided bomb won the world without service. However, I'm afraid there are no high-grade goods like jammers in Syria, so the laser-guided bomb in HGK-84 laboratory will still kill some people with a high probability.
