What is the most spiritual thing for Nanjing Jiming Temple?
Jiming Temple is a famous temple in Nanjing to pray for marriage. Every holiday, men and women will gather in Jiming Temple to light some incense and pray for a happy marriage. The ancient trees in the temple are covered with lanterns. It is said that many good men and women have found the other half and made a wish with the other half.
Jiming Temple, also known as the ancient Jiming Temple, is located in Lushan House at the eastern foot of Jilong Mountain in Xuanwu District, Nanjing. According to reports, people as far away as Fangshan in Jiangning will come to Jiming Temple to make a pilgrimage and make a wish. There is even a river called Jinxiang River.
The history of Jiming Temple can be traced back to the temple in the Three Kingdoms, which belonged to Wu's backyard. In the first year of Yongkang in the Western Jin Dynasty (300 years), he built a house on the mountain and founded the Dojo. After the Eastern Jin Dynasty, it was transferred to Tingwei Department. In the first year of Datong in Nanliang (527), Liang Wudi built Tongtai Temple in Jimingtai, where he died four times.
Buddhist culture
During the Southern Dynasties, Liang Wudi often went to temples to give lectures, with an audience of more than 10,000 people. He went to Tongtai Temple four times to give his life as a monk, took off the embroidered robe of the emperor's dragon crown, put on a monk's robe and lived a monk's life in the temple. People call him the emperor and the bodhisattva. Because of the respect of the emperor, Tongtai Temple was like the Buddhist center in the south at that time, and the Dharma monk in Tianzhu lived here when he came to Jiankang from India.
Tongtai Temple faces Taicheng (Miyagi) across the road. The whole temple was built according to royal regulations. Large-scale, magnificent, heyday, worthy of the reputation of the first temple in the Southern Dynasties. Since the Liang Dynasty, after the Sui, Tang, Song and Yuan Dynasties, although the bells, drums and incense lamps were not full of sound and flame, their scale was simple and far from comparable.
Incense was popular in the Ming Dynasty. It is said that Ma Huanghou and other ministers' families often came to Jiming Temple to burn incense, and a Jinxiang River was specially dug for this purpose until the Shanmen and Jiming Temple became famous. In the early years of Yongle in the Ming Dynasty, Judy built a dining table at the foot of the mountain to welcome the Tibetan monk Halima Dabao, and sent officials to offer sacrifices every year, inviting monks to cross over the dead here. Later, it was called the dining table, also known as the Zhigongtai.
