Jiangnan District is a municipal district under the jurisdiction of Nanning, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and is one of the main urban areas of Nanning. Located in the southwest of Nanning, on the south bank of Yongjiang River, it is adjacent to Nanning Economic and Technological Development Zone and Liangqing District in the east, Qinzhou City and Shangsi County in Fangchenggang City in the south, Fusui County in Chongzuo City in the west, and Xingning District, Qingxiu District and Xixiangtang District across Yongjiang River in the north.

The development of history

On September 15, 2004, some administrative divisions of Nanning were adjusted: Wuwei, Suwei and Yan 'an towns in Yongning County and Tongxin, Tonghua, Jinjiang, Anping, Tongliang, Tong Ning, Tongjiang, Nalang, Zhixin and Yangmei 10 villages in Jiangxi Town in Yongxin District were placed under the jurisdiction of Jiangnan District.

After the division adjustment, Jiangnan District governs Jiangnan Street, Fujian Garden Street, Nahong Town, Shajing Town, Jiangxi Town, Wuxu Town, Suxu Town and Yan 'an Town. On June 25th, 2005, the Notice of Nanning Municipal People's Government on Adjusting Administrative Divisions of Some Towns (N.F.F. [2005] No.70) agreed to cancel Nahong Town and Shajing Town, and set up Nahong Street and Shajing Street.
