In the traditional life of China, tourists often go to temples to pray for blessings during festivals, especially on the first and fifteenth day of the lunar calendar. Today, I will tell you about the temples in Yichang. On those unhappy days, everyone just went to the temple for fun.

yuquan temple

This temple is one of the earliest temples in China, and the earliest legend is said to have spread to the Eastern Han Dynasty.

In the 12th year of Emperor Kai of Sui Dynasty (592), Zhichan, the founder of Tiantai Sect, founded yuquan temple, which was called "the four wonders of the world" with qixia temple in Nanjing, Jiangsu, Lingyan Temple in Changqing, Shandong and Tiantai National Temple in Zhejiang.

In the following years, it took another vacation. In its heyday, the scale of the temple once reached 3,000 people, also known as the "crown of Jingchu jungle".

Hanging lanterns, setting off firecrackers, ringing bells and burning incense in ancient temples have become a part of the local people that is neither salty nor light, but still exists.

In this temple, you can always hear deep and distant bells.

Here's another story. According to legend, Fu Lin, Shunzhi of Qing Dynasty, resigned, converted to Buddhism, became a monk in Wutai Mountain, traveled to famous mountains in the south of the Yangtze River and participated in meditation. According to historical records, Emperor Kangxi went to this mountain incognito to find his father, but when the father and son met on the cliff, they didn't know each other and lamented that they had no chance to meet their father.

Although it is located in the bustling urban area, it is also a quiet place in the downtown area and is known as a pure land in the downtown area. In the new year, I pray for good weather and happiness.
