Can fortune tellers really see the future?

Since ancient times, many people like fortune telling, and the ways of fortune telling are also varied. In ancient times, some people looked at the internal organs of animals or people, some people watched a rooster peck at rice, and some people used tea or coffee grounds to tell their fortune. Today, many people use tarot cards, crystal balls or dice to predict the future. Are these methods really useful? It's useless. Let's look at the following reasons.

First of all, the conclusions drawn by fortune telling are often inconsistent. Different fortune-telling methods often draw contradictory conclusions. Even if the same method is used, the calculation results are often different. For example, a person holding the same card asks two tarot players. In theory, the answers of two tarot players should be the same, but in practice, their statements are often inconsistent.

Secondly, the fortune teller's motive is very suspicious. Some people point out that tarot cards or crystal balls are just mysterious props for fortune tellers. They don't look at these props at all, but at each other's reactions. An experienced fortune teller will ask some questions, then observe the other person carefully and look for clues from his answers or body language. In fact, the fortune teller just told the information that the questioner inadvertently revealed. After defrauding the other party's trust, take the opportunity to ask for a lot of money.

People who believe in astrology or fortune telling believe that people's future is already doomed. Is that really the case? The Bible points out that everyone can make choices for his own life, and our future is influenced by our own choices. "If you think it's not good to worship the Lord, choose what you want to worship today: the god your ancestors worshipped across the river, or the god of the local Amorites. As for me and my family, we should worship the Lord. " (Joshua 24: 15)

Another reason why people who worship God reject astrology and fortune telling is that God condemns all forms of divination. The Bible says, "No one is allowed to perform divination, magic, omens, witchcraft, spells or ask psychics, nor is anyone allowed to predict the future and ask the dead. Anyone who does this is an abomination to the Lord. " (Deuteronomy 18: 10- 12)
