The topic I want to talk about this time is the story of Lian Zong. First of all, let's talk about the second volume of the Reorder of Western Certificates by Peng Erlin (Qing Ji) in Qing Dynasty.

Peng Jushi said: In ancient times, there were miracles in the west, some of which were tested in dreams, some from hades, and some from meditation.

I was tested in my dream. For example, Master Yan Hui saw the wise master in my dream, Yang Jie saw Wang Zhonghui in my dream, and Mrs. Wang Jing saw the dead concubines in my dream. For example, a monk in Fuzhou, Jiangxi Province, who went into the underworld because of illness, saw Yan Luowang offering an icon in the Ursa Major Hall and worshipped it every day. After inquiring, I learned that it was a portrait of Zen master Yongming Yanshou in Song Dynasty, and the Zen master had obtained the top grade. Those who were tested in meditation, such as Master Hui Yuan, the early ancestor of Jing Zong, met Amitabha and the saints of Lotus Society in meditation. Yuan Xiaoxiu was also in the middle of the Ming Dynasty, and his god knowledge was taken to the pure land by his brother Yuan Zhonglang. All this is true, because it is reflected by the minds of pure travelers, and it is recorded in history. This gives us confidence that the pure land of past lives in the West is real.

Here, Buddhist Peng Erlin recorded the events of the Qing Dynasty. He was born in Qianlong period of Qing Dynasty, and his father worshipped Shang Shu. He was a scholar when he was very young, studying Confucianism and Taoism, and then gave up, specializing in Buddhism and returning to the pure land. The Record of Pure Land Sages was written by his nephew after he laid out the program first.

At that time, Fei Luan was prevalent, and the storyteller's sin was very detailed and did not leave our minds. The author said: I once wrote an article and collected all kinds of good deeds in the past, not out of the last thought (meaning, how to judge that a person has passed away? It depends on the state of his last thoughts, such as predicting time, seeing the Buddha at the end of his life, clear mindfulness and so on. ), and there is no news after his death.

Later, I got the evidence of Dow, Wang, Lu Sheng and four previous lives. One is a miracle in my dream, the other is evidence from hades, and the other two are the notices I got when I helped Luan, all of which are true. Just as we believe that water is cold and fire is hot, everything grows in spring and withers in autumn, this is a fact that people have seen with their own eyes, and no one does not believe it. Similarly, we should be positive about our past life.

First of all, let's talk about an incident that happened in the spring of 49 years in Qianlong. At that time, a western scholar came to the jade altar and preached the Pure Land Method to his disciples. Fu Luan was very popular in Suzhou that year. There are some immortals, some ghosts, some buddhas and bodhisattvas who come down from the altar, which is undecided. Buddha and Bodhisattva came to the altar to transform a kind of sentient beings. Here, a great Bodhisattva from the Western Pure Land came to the altar to preach the Pure Land Law. His words are simple, incisive and meaningful, all of which are in line with Mahayana Confucian classics.

Peng Jushi said that one day I also went to visit and asked at the altar, "I have many teachers and friends in my life. Where were they born? " The master replied one by one: "Pure Land gave birth to four people, namely, the old man of Xiangshan, the master of traveling in the pavilion, the master of wishing, and the lay man of Shen Jingfu; There is a person born with a pocket rate. It's Wang Bingning, a layman. Others, such as Zhu and Luo Taishan, are among the blessings. Finally, I asked my niece, Daoqiong Building. (Peng Jushi's niece died young, so he is very concerned about where she was born. The western tuas said: "Tao has been born in the western border." " 」

Not long after, Dow came and wrote a poem: "The grass grows in the rain, and the news flows for five years." The smoke clouds in the cave are deeply closed, and the smoke wind has sent guests away. Peng Erlin is a scholar family, and his niece is also a scholar. She often wrote poems and sang with him before her death. Therefore, in this visit, she first mentioned a poem saying: the rain has stopped, the footsteps are quiet, and there are many grasses (that is, she was born in pure land). Five years soon, time flies (that is, she has been dead for five years). Born in Xixiong, I am beyond the Three Realms, happy and beautiful. Now I am sent here by the misty wind (this refers to the Queen Mother of the West holding her heart to the world).

When children return to Elysium, they must all have a heart of gold. The outside is not polluted by six dusts, and the inside is not covered by seven emotions, so lotus flowers grow in the mud.

Everyone's heart should turn to the Elysium and have a heart of stone. That is, faith is as strong as gold and iron, and no matter what happens, it will not waver or change. Now I still live in a woman's world, so I should always protect my heart. Don't be polluted by the five desires and six dusts of color, sound, fragrance, taste, touch and law outside, because if our hearts are contaminated with this, we will have greedy love for women's world and directly hinder our death. Don't be confused by worldly desires in your heart, because if you are trapped by worldly greed and feelings, you will be trapped by life and death. In this way, in the world of mortals, the heart is not sealed by lust, and there are lotus flowers in the sludge!

Therefore, we must have a heart of joy and disgust at ordinary times, and don't be defiled and blinded by six dust and seven emotions. Otherwise, there is still a lot of lust and lust in the world of mortals, and it is not a heart of gold.

This "firmness" means that the desire for pure land survival will never change, just like gold and iron. Don't change your mind when you are proud, and don't change your mind when you are frustrated. Will never change. Don't change your desire to live in the pure land just because you have been rich and happy. Nor will I blame others for suffering, physical and mental pain, and unsatisfactory life, and give up my desire for survival and peaceful life. This wish is so firm whenever and wherever it is, that lotus flowers appear in the mud.

A Buddhist name, with light. There are thousands of words of Buddha's name and thousands of lights. Light comes from the inside, not from the outside. There is nothing in common. Amitabha appears everywhere in front of others. Only the slightest obstacle can find this light.

You say a Buddhist word, and there is a light; Read a thousand words of Buddha, and there will be a thousand lights. Light comes from the inside, not from the outside. Amitabha Buddha appeared everywhere because of no phase. Amitabha is the heart of Buddhism. Because there is no phase, it can appear in every Buddhist's heart without stopping.

If there is a slight obstacle in your heart, this light will not appear. If a person's heart is pure now and he is not greedy for the five desires in the world, it is the corresponding Buddha. As soon as I left the Buddha, I ran in the dust. Think about it, it doesn't correspond. Therefore, lust for concubines is the biggest violation. The heart is stained with it, greedy and stupid, killing thieves, and the Buddha's light is not obvious. So don't lose sleep

Buddhists should always protect the current pure Buddhists. Just like a hen incubating an egg, it is necessary to protect the egg all the time to prevent the heat from dissipating, so as to hatch a chick. By the same token, we can't lose our purity for a moment. If we can do this, the lotus will bloom in the mud. "Sludge" refers to the world of mortals in our family and society. If you have a heart of gold and iron, you will not be infected or moved, and you can "recite Buddha" in the mud. In all living conditions, pure Buddha will appear from one thought to another. This is a lotus flower from the heart, which is the seed of pure land, not the seed of three evils, nor the seed of life. So we must cherish this pure Buddhist thought very much. Being able to think of protection in this way, although the body is still in the realm of women, the heart is already in the lotus country.

As the saying goes, "If you read Buddha, you will read Buddha" and "If you read Buddha, you will see the light". Like a good guide, the master is called "Ming Monk" and his abbot's temple is called "Ming Temple". Every time the master recites the Buddha, a light comes out of his mouth. This is for everyone to prove. In fact, everyone can do this, because Amitabha's name and light are inseparable, and Amitabha's sad wish is to use light and name to capture all beings in our tenth life.

So every time we read a Buddha, there is a light in our hearts. The scripture says: Buddhism has forty miles of light, and the evil spirits of light can't get close.

You should always be aware of the Buddha's heart, so that you can't give up your thoughts; When I read Buddha, I have to be sad, and I can't be sad anymore.

The mind of chanting Buddha should always be in charge. Thinking about Buddha is a feeling, not thinking about it is a mystery, so the heart should always have a look and not lose it. If you don't think about it, you will fall into ignorance. If you keep your eyes open, you can keep thinking, and you can keep thinking one after another. The voice of chanting Buddha should not be careless, but sad. Thinking about reincarnation, or trapped in the sea of life and death. Thank Amitabha for his kindness to the sea and hope to be free in this life. So I prayed to Amitabha in a sad way, just like a wandering child calling his mother, so that I could bear the supreme will. In other words, I am sad not only for myself, but also for all sentient beings in the sea of suffering, so that I can bear the supreme will-I must go to the pure land in this life, achieve the supreme Buddhism, and come to all sentient beings.

Heart to heart, radiant, everywhere is not a Buddha. Only by chanting Buddha all the time can you succeed.

So, how to recite Buddha as a hand? Think of this Amitabha from your sincere heart, and your heart will melt into the sound of the Buddha's name, and this Buddha's name will be reflected in your heart and added to your heart. Because your heart belongs to Zhou Wei, just use your vast Buddha's heart to shine in all directions, and there are buddhas everywhere. You are always in the Buddha's heart, and you are under the care of Buddha's light. This is success.

The Buddha's name is boundless. You should know that wisdom, supernatural power, compassion and acceptance are boundless. If you don't have boundless mind, can you see the top of our division?

Amitabha has boundless fame, because Buddha has boundless virtue, Buddha's wisdom is not * * *, avatar is not * * *, compassion is not * * *, and stress is not * * *, but if we don't initiate infinite mind, how can we see the top of Amitabha in person? Amitabha has no top view and no boundaries. Only with infinite heart can he achieve infinite Buddha. If his heart is limited, he can't achieve complete harmony.

Therefore, if our thoughts are to be consistent with the Buddha's heart, we must have an infinite heart. In other words, the Buddha's heart is boundless, and we also have boundless hearts, so that we can be in harmony with Amitabha's heart, like an empty seal. Our hearts are Zhouyi's, and there is no margin. So is Amitabha's heart, no chance. Our hearts are completely separated from Amitabha's, just like closing the corresponding box and its lid, just like water. Buddha's wisdom is boundless, and I also have a heart with infinite wisdom; Buddha's magical power is boundless, and I also have boundless heart; Buddha is merciful, and I am merciful; The Buddha's acceptance is boundless, and I also accept the hearts of infinite beings. Only by showing the supreme bodhicitta in this way can it correspond to the heart of Amitabha.

Sadness is for all beings, and if you want to keep it, the root of Tao will gradually decline. What does Buddha think of you? Go and recite Buddha!

All sentient beings are poor, and the law of the world is unbreakable, and the roots and buds of Bodhi are increasingly damaged. If the Buddha comes to see you, how will you face it? So hurry up and recite Buddha, and don't go against Buddha's heart. In our daily actions, thoughts and behaviors, we should consider: "Does Buddha like it when I do this? Is it in line with the Buddha's heart? Does the greed in my heart correspond to the Buddha? Therefore, we must quickly turn over a new leaf, always read the Buddha in a clean way, and don't indulge in the five desires.

We should think about our present situation. We are still so reluctant to part with people and things in the world and always have various desires. If you indulge in the five desires, be greedy, make thieves and kill thieves, the roots and buds of Bodhi will wither and rot day by day. We sentient beings have been sinking like this, and the Buddha is very sad to see it! So, how can we get rid of this power of reincarnation? Then you should "read the Buddha quickly."

Peng Erlin, the author, said that I happened to be out at that time, and someone gave me a message and told me what Qionglou said.

After a month, I went back and wrote a letter to Qionglou, saying, "It's a good thing to hear that you were born in pure land and lived up to your lifelong wish. However, Luo Taishan and Zhu are very rare people. They are usually clean and quick, and have great vows. Why are they still included in the blessing? However, you are not completely abstinent, and you are not familiar with kung fu, so you can die directly without any obstacles. What is the reason? What was your past life like? How to enjoy the wonderful realm of pure land after death? How to study? Have you met the Buddha? Can't I return it? Please say it one by one, so that everyone who hears it can be excited and admired and initiate improvement. This is also the original intention of others. 」

On this day, the Buddhist monk went down from the altar again and replied, "I have just come from the western world to educate all beings. Qionglou can come with me." She can't come today. I will answer for her. Although her usual efforts and discipline are not as strong as Luo Taishan's, her dying mindfulness is far better than Luo Taishan's, so she thinks Guanyin Bodhisattva has taken over. At the end of her life, she saw the golden lotus in front of her. Suddenly I feel that my body has become a man's body and has entered the seven treasures world in the west. There, everything such as food, clothing, housing and transportation is natural, and there is no need for labor. Although we can't see the Buddha yet, every major bodhisattva talks about Buddhism twice a day. Diligent people can gradually climb the ninth grade, and lazy people can have pure land after 500 years. A hundred years in the women's world is equal to a day on the border. After Joan Lu died, she was still diligent. In the future, she will get the top grade, in the next life, that is, two thousand years after the woman's world. 」

This western scholar's name is Ji Gen. When the Buddha preached the Sutra of Infinite Life and the Sutra of Vimalakīrti, he attended the Dharma, and he was a sage who had long borne good fruits.

Qionglou's desire for pure land is very strong, and he prayed for Buddha more devoutly when he was sick. When he died, he didn't care, but said, "The big monk is here! I went! " But when Luo Taishan left, he looked at his loved ones. I doubted that he would survive at that time. This is a very sad thing! Luo Taishan knew the truth of "parting ways with feelings" for a long time, but he failed to overcome himself in the end.

The so-called "emotional divergence" comes from the Shurangama Sutra: "Pure feelings fall, pure thoughts fly". Our hearts are divided into depravity and soaring emotionally and ideologically. "Pure love is falling" means that if it is pure love, it will fall downward. Greed and extravagance in the world are both called "feelings". "Pure thinking means flying", which means not being infected by feelings. Pure thinking is flying upwards. Therefore, the feelings in the world should be light.

Luo Taishan knew this truth for a long time, but when he died, he couldn't help but feel attached to it and glanced at his relatives. Judging from this situation, the hope of past lives is very slim. Now tuas arrival has said where he is going, and sure enough, he failed to overcome his inner lust. Therefore, it is difficult to uproot the roots of love, and it is not easy to achieve purity in Buddhism. Everyone should study hard and constantly use pure Buddhist thoughts to clean up the polluted feelings.

You know, too many feelings in the world do not correspond to the atmosphere of pure land. You must get rid of your feelings before you can ascend to the pure land. This is all based on a firm belief. Only by relying on firm faith, in any case, using this Buddhist name to read the root of love can we eliminate all kinds of entanglements and live directly in the pure land of the West.

Let's start by saying that Master Jigen came to the jade altar. At that time, it was Lu Jintang who was in Siluan. At first, he sought medical treatment for his friend on the jade altar, and a god told him to worship "Emperor Liang". Lu Jintang was inspired by repentance and later received a bodhisattva amulet in Tianning Temple. Master Jigen went down to Luan, and there were eleven meetings before and after. Lu Jintang is committed to promoting Buddhism, and people who hear it often show bodhicitta. After coming down, everyone took names, studied concepts and recited "Hokkekyo" for a year or two.

Soon, Lu Jintang fell ill and was bedridden. At the end of his life, his eyes raised as if he saw something. He said, "White lotus and white crane are all good people." "And repeatedly called" Buddha, Buddha, Buddha ... ",lying on the right side, dying. For a time, the house was full of foreign smells. Soon, his friend came to Yutan and asked where Lu Jintang was from. He replied, "Lu Zi was born on the western border. "This is fifty-two years.

On the first day of May of the following year, Lu Jintang also came to the jade altar and gave us some enlightenment. He said: "There is one thing that is most important to everyone, but everyone has forgotten it. Now that you are in good health and strong spirit, you never thought that you would be ill in bed one day. At this time, the immortals are out, and they can't tell the difference between east and west, north and south on Yin Zhong Road. The future is bleak and uncertain, and they have suffered immeasurable industry rotation. Think about it. Only those who practice pure industry all their lives will see Amitabha come to receive the quotation in person and be in the lotus for a while, enjoying a long life. From then on, there is no longer the pain of life and death. Therefore, if everyone intends to go to the pure land of life, it is necessary to emphasize the three main points of belief, will and action. 」

To believe is to believe that there is a pure land of bliss in the west. There is a world of women in the east, just like the east of Suzhou city; There is a pure land of bliss in the west, just like the west of Suzhou. Since the mother-in-law is real, where is the pure land of bliss not real? The whole world is in the ocean of our vision, so we can reach it with just one thought. It's like being in the same Suzhou city. If you want to go from one place to another, you can lift your feet.

So when you die, as long as you recite Buddha, you will be born in the pure land lotus at that time. Since you can trust the west, you can decide to go to the west.

Believing in the use of Buddha is just like believing in dressing and eating. We can avoid cold and freezing by wearing clothes and avoid hunger by eating. Similarly, learning Buddhism can also avoid life and death. The role of chanting Buddha is countless times greater than food and clothing. Dress and eat every day. Why don't you read Buddha? Now you can recite Buddha, and if you die, you will be saved from life and death.

And believe in today, not tomorrow, not really believe; Believe for life. If you suddenly stop believing, it's not true. How can you really believe it? From today until the end of my life, I believe in the end, no doubt. This is true faith. It is valuable to have such confidence. The road to the west depends on your confidence, not on your feet or any external spacecraft. You can't go anywhere without self-confidence. With confidence, you can leave soon.

In this way, I have believed that there is a western paradise, and I also believe that there are ways to recite Buddha. It's no use just admiring how solemn Xanadu is and how good Buddha is. Just like counting other people's money, if you don't have a dime, you won't get any benefits. Similarly, you are just paying lip service, which is not good for life and death. Therefore, those who have faith should follow the instruction. Believe today, do today, believe tomorrow, and do tomorrow.

Never say, "I'm still young. It's not too late to study when I'm old." You have to know that the "yellow world is half blackheaded", how many people die in their prime, how can they wait until they are old? You can't say, "My parents are not finished, and my children's debts are not finished. It's not too late to come back and fix it when I'm free! "I don't know impermanence is rapid. In the blink of an eye, the ghost came to the door and told you to go. At this time, can you say to the ghost: "My parents' affairs are not finished, and my children's debts are not finished." Come and arrest me when I am free! " "Yan told you to go at night, so I can't leave you at night. Therefore, we should worry about life and death and prepare for the afterlife from now on.
