There are many temples in Xiamen. Besides Nanputuo Temple, what other temples are there on Siming South Road in Siming District?

Xiamen Island is divided into Huli District and Siming District. There is a Siming South Road in Siming District, which is a street with historical charm in the old city. There are many traces of old Xiamen on both sides of the street. Today I will introduce five temples on this road.

Take an inventory of five temples on Siming South Road 1 and Nanputuo Temple.

Construction time: Nanputuo Temple in Xiamen was built in the late Tang Dynasty, and was then called Sizhou Temple.

Location: Nanputuo Temple is located at the foot of Wulao Peak in Xiamen City, Fujian Province, adjacent to Xiamen University.

The main buildings on the central axis of the temple are the Temple of the King, the Hall of Great Heroes, the Hall of Great Compassion and the Pavilion of Scripture. There are bell and drum towers, meditation halls, guest rooms and warehouses on both sides.

In addition, there are Minnan Buddhist College, Buddhist Training Center and release pool in front of the temple, and the newly-built Taixu Master Memorial Tower behind the temple in recent years. The whole temple is magnificent and orderly.

Among them, Tianwang Temple is located at the front end of the central axis of the temple, where the smiling Maitreya Buddha is enshrined. On both sides are four glaring kings, and behind the temple is the Wei Tuo Bodhisattva, who stands erect and majestic.

A temple bears witness to the development of a city. In China, there is a strong Buddhist culture. Although most young people nowadays advocate science and don't believe in Buddhism, most of us like to visit various temples. A temple has witnessed the development of a city and is also a true portrayal of the city's development history.
