I. Dialogue between the old monk Xu Yun and Sun Yat-sen

(Excerpted from Feng Feng's Empty Cloud, page 964. This book is published by Tianhua Publishing House of Taiwan Province Province)

Mr. Sun said: "It was true that the revolutionary party advocated learning from the western democratic system and new science to save the country, but it also advocated preserving China's traditional culture! I am writing a speech on psychological construction and moral construction, and I will also mention these issues. I think now that the old dogma has fallen, new moral standards must be established! Our psychological construction is more important and urgent than economic construction, and it also needs to be based on the traditional cultural thoughts of the Chinese nation and take the essence of world democracy and freedom. "

Xu Yun said: "I hope to read the great president's masterpiece as soon as possible."

Mr. Sun added with a smile: "However, I think some traditional superstitions should be ruled out. For example, asking God for divination, using spells to cure diseases, extravagant sacrifices, burning incense on the occasion of Buddha's birthday, or collecting money, or offering sacrifices to others, these ethos cannot be changed. "

Xu Yun said: "What the President said is not the habit of Buddhism, and Buddhism does not approve of this superstition. The world is superstitious and kitsch, dragging the Buddha and bodhisattva into it, thus confusing the real Buddhism and making the world misunderstand the essence of Buddhism. "

Mr. Sun said, "That's what I thought! Christ advocates fraternity, but some Christians go against Christ's will, attack other religions and wage war. This is very unfortunate! In fact, I think Christianity and Buddhism were originally very close in doctrine and spirit. Christ advocates fraternity, regardless of race; The Buddha advocated compassion and taught without distinction. Christians should love their enemies. The Buddha taught people hatred and equality. Christians give, Buddhists give. Christ said that the kingdom of heaven is in the heart, and the teachings of the Buddha are from the heart. ..... I don't have time to do a lot of research, but I think to myself that Christianity and Buddhism are originally homologous. Therefore, I am very opposed to Christianity attacking Buddhists. "

Xu Yun said: "It's admirable that the President has such in-depth research and enlightened views on religion! Yes, Buddhism and Christianity are homologous. After the age of eighteen, Jesus Christ went to India to study Buddhism, and probably talked with the disciples of A?vagho?a Bodhisattva. Jesus studied in India for about ten or twelve years, and then returned to Israel to preach and help the world through Persia and Turkey. "

Surprised, Mr. Sun asked, "Are these things?"

Xu Yun said: "The Biography of the Disciples on the Water written by Peter, the first apostle of Christ, has such a record. Unfortunately, it has been banned by the Holy See in later generations, so it has not been circulated. "

Mr. Sun said, "If you have this book, you should study it! Excuse me, where is this book? "

Xu Yun said: "I heard from foreigners that there are still several copies of this book in the Vatican Library and the British Library."

Mr. Sun said, "Next time I go to London, I must find out and have a look! If this book is born again, I believe it will make great contributions to the unity and cooperation between the two religions! In other words, it also contributes to world peace! "

Xu Yun said: "It's a pity that the Vatican was selfish and banned this book a thousand years ago."

Second, the dialogue between the old monk Xu Yun and Chiang Kai-shek

(Excerpted from Empty Clouds, Volume II, 1472)

Chiang Kai-shek said, "Lao Xu just talked about the similarities between Christianity and Buddhism. Can you make more differences? "

Xu Yun said: "Jesuits are roughly the same as pure land Buddhism. Jesus was born more than 400 years after Sakyamuni. It is impossible for him to learn from Christ in the pure land. From 2722 to 226 BC, King Ashoka was in power, spreading Buddhism, sending Dharma monks to Syria, Egypt and Macedonia to spread Buddhism, and sowing Buddhist thoughts in the Middle East. The story after Jesus preached for the first time at the age of twelve was not officially preached in Israel until the age of thirty-two, and the story of twenty years was not recorded in the New Testament, which is really unreasonable! Western scholars have found that the book "The Age of Water Man" written by St. Peter, the great disciple of Jesus, contains the content that Jesus went to India to study Buddhism in his early years and then returned to Israel to preach through Persia and Turkey. According to the cloud, this record was first recorded in the New Testament, and was later deleted by the Holy See. This textual research seems to be not thick! If this is true, it proves that Jesus may have been influenced by Buddhism, got the Amitabha Sutra, and returned to China to innovate. " [/cp]
