The History and Culture of Yongxing Town

Up to now, there are three caves in the cliff tomb of the Han Dynasty in Yongxing Town, indicating that people settled in the territory for production activities 2000 years ago. In the 18th year of Emperor Kai of Sui Dynasty (AD 558), the administrative division was changed from Jiangyang County to Jiangjin County, and Yongxing was always under Jiangjin County. After the liberation of Jiangjin, 1950, the whole county was divided into 10 area, and Yongxing was the fifth area. 1953 establish a government democratically and implement a small township system. Yongxing Township is divided into three small townships: Yongxing, Xiuyan and Piro. 1956, merger and expansion of small towns. The county is divided into 13 area, and the seventh area is changed to Yongxing area. 1985, the county was divided into 14 districts and 2 towns. Yongxing District governs eight townships, namely: Yongxing Township, Ruoyan Township, Gaowu Township, Sankou Township, ji zi Township, Tanghe Township, Egong Township and Piluo Township. 1938+093. In May, 20001year, Jiangjin City further adjusted the township organizational system, and Piluo Township was placed under the jurisdiction of Yongxing Town. At present, the town covers an area of 162 square kilometers, governs 8 administrative villages, 1 community neighborhood committee, 105 economic cooperatives and 4 residents' groups, with a total population of 45,000.

The origin of Yongxing Chang: In the early years of Kangxi in Qing Dynasty, people exchanged goods in the main temple of Yuanchuan and then moved to Liang Dong Temple due to the population reproduction and production development. Later, with the development of production, supply and demand became increasingly prosperous, and gradually formed a market, which was named "Yongxing Market" by Chen Nongchu of Lianghekou. Since its establishment, it has been the political, military, economic, cultural and commodity trading center of Yongxing people.
