What is filial piety?

Filial piety twice a year refers to filial piety when parents die. You can wear mourning clothes according to your status. Generally speaking, Pima Dai Xiao is the main one. The ancients were very particular about filial piety. There are five levels of mourning from heavy to light: cutting down (cu Ι), qi Ι (z Ι), making great contributions, making small contributions, and slapping (s Ι), which are called five levels.

Filial piety is to cut off decline, which is the heaviest mourning and suitable for children to be fathers. In the Ming and Qing dynasties, it was stipulated that children should be mothers, which also played a role in cutting feet and fitting shoes. Twice a year, filial piety should be conducted by Dai Xiao according to etiquette.

The period of funeral service is three years, but not three years. As long as you add two anniversaries in the first month of the third anniversary, even if you serve for three years, it will actually be finished in May. Of course, people nowadays don't pay attention to funerals like the ancients. Generally speaking, mourning has a period of one year or half a year, and even shorter mourning takes place on May 7th.
