Zongyang County is located in the south-central part of Anhui Province, on the north bank of the Yangtze River. Total area 1808 km2. The total population is 970,000 (end of 2007). County-wide jurisdiction over 13 towns and 9 townships: Zongyang Town, Shanzhen Town, tanggou Town, Laozhou Town, Chenyaohu Town, Zhoutan Town, Hengbu Town, Xiangpu Town, Qianqiao Town, Qilin Town, Yijin Town, Fushan Town, Guanbuqiao Town, Tietong Township, Fengyi Township, Changsha Town, Qianpu Township, Jinshe Township and Baimei Township. The county government is located in Zongyang Town.
