The artistic form of Puxian Opera;
The voice of Puxian Opera is called "Xinghua Opera", which absorbs the elements of Puxian folk songs, ten tones and eight tones, Buddhist music, Song and Yuan lyrics, Daqu songs and dances, and sings in dialects. When singing, it conveys a strong local color and flavor.
The early musical instruments of Puxian Opera were very simple, only gongs, drums, flutes and so on. Among them, the drum uses a big drum and the gong is called a sand gong. The gongs and drums are controlled for stage performances. After strict regulations, there are more than 300 kinds. The unique musical instrument of Puxian Opera, the reed flute, is also called the head pipe, which was passed down from ancient times, while the plum blossom, called suona, is the main musical instrument of Puxian Opera.
In terms of performance, Puxian Opera has many distinctive local colors, including procedural movements with traces of puppet performances, such as holding snakes, jumping birds, sweeping skirts, touching snails and sneaking around for seven times.
The classification of Puxian Opera follows the old rules of Nanxi Opera. At first, there were only seven roles, namely, the second student, the second Dan, the beauty, and the last ugly (commonly known as "Class Seven"). By the end of the Qing Dynasty, the role of Lao Dan was added, so it was called "the children of the Eight Immortals". Later, many roles were gradually added, but the corner of "beauty" or "net" has always retained the title of Zaju in the Song Dynasty.
Puxian Opera is divided into two categories: in a broad sense, Dan Jiao refers to all female roles in Puxian Opera, including Zheng Dan, Tie Dan and Lao Dan. In a narrow sense, Dan Jiao Zhi Dan, namely Tsing Yi and Gui Men Dan, is usually the main role in the play. Zheng Dan usually plays a dignified and elegant decent figure, which is a model of feminine beauty and feminine beauty in China traditional culture, and embodies the views and values of China traditional culture on women.
