Shenyang has been called "the land of geomantic omen" since ancient times. What is this?

Shenyang is the birthplace and capital of the Qing Dynasty. Because of this, many people in Shenyang are proud that Shenyang is a "land of geomantic omen". As for why it is called a treasure land, it is mainly because it used to be the capital of the Qing Dynasty, and the two princes of Lao Han built their capitals here. Will this place be a treasure? Others say that there has never been a major disaster in Shenyang. Basically, the weather is fine and the people are safe. Isn't this our "good feng shui"?

Of course, Shenyang, an ancient city with a history of more than 2,300 years, has its advantages in gradually becoming an important city from a small border town and finally becoming the former capital. If we analyze these carefully, we may really be worthy of the so-called "land of geomantic omen".

1, the land of victory-the reason why Nurhachi moved to the capital

In the sixth year of the late Jin Dynasty (the first year of tomorrow, A.D. 162 1), Nurhachi captured Liaoyang, the military and political center of Liaodong in the Ming Dynasty, moved the capital from Hetuala to Liaoyang, designated it as Tokyo, and built a large number of buildings and palaces.

Unexpectedly, however, in the early morning of the third day of March in the Decade of Destiny (1625), Nurhachi suddenly called all the ministers to discuss with Baylor and proposed to move the capital to Shenyang.

This is definitely a decision that makes people fall through the glasses. After all, Liaoyang was the central city of Northeast China at that time, and just established a new capital here. Nurhachi wants to move the capital, which is all a fuss. So the maharaja and Baylor strongly opposed it, but Nurhachi made up his mind. After sacrificing his father and ancestors, he immediately led a great army and marched into Shenyang City after a day and a night of marching.

Then, why did Nurhachi insist on moving the capital to Shenyang?

There is a clear record in A Record of Zhao Kuangyin:

Shenyang extends in all directions. Westward expedition to Daming, crossing the Liaohe River from Durby (now Zhangwu), the road is straight and close; Northern expedition to Mongolia can be reached in two or three days; South Korea can be accessed from Qinghe Road. The Hunhe River in Shenyang leads to the Susu River, and logging is carried out at the source of the Susu River, and the wood cannot be used downstream. Traveling and hunting, there are many animals near the mountain. And the benefits of the river are acceptable.

It can be seen that Lao Wang mainly considers Shenyang's geographical location and military advantages. Its central idea is one sentence-Shenyang is a place extending in all directions. Interestingly, the word "extending in all directions" may be too simple and not elegant. Later, in the records of Qing Taizu Gao, this sentence was changed to "the land of victory in Shenyang" It seems that Lao Wang is very literary. In fact, "shape victory" means superior terrain, convenience and speed.

Shenyang is really a "land of victory". Located at the southern end of the Northeast Plain, it is adjacent to Changbai Mountain in the north and faces the coast of Bohai Sea. Its location is in the connecting zone between Liaodong and western Liaoning, Liaodong Peninsula and Northeast Great Plain. This geographical position is indeed both offensive and defensive. No wonder Nurhachi insisted on pushing through the crowd and moving the capital.

2. Phoenix falls in front of the dragon-an ancient saying.

In fact, Nurhachi moved to Shenyang for many reasons. For example, the resolute opposition of the Han people in Liaoyang made him feel in danger and couldn't sleep well in Liaoyang. It is better to rebuild the capital in Shenyang, a small city.

However, the people have their own views. There is a legend circulating in Shenyang: Nurhachi moved to Shenyang because he believed that Shenyang was a treasure land where the phoenix fell in Longgan.

Legend has it that when Nurhachi built Liaoyang, the capital of Tokyo, he built Niangniang Temple in the southwest corner of Tokyo at that time according to the instructions of Mr. Feng Shui. Building Mituo Temple at the East Gate; Thousands of Buddhist temples were built at the foot of Fengling Mountain, and three temples were used to hold dragons to protect the royal spirit of Long Mai.

However, the Three Temples only suppressed the dragon head, the dragon claw and the dragon tail, but the dragon backbone in the city was not suppressed. As a result, the dragon flew away with a bow and flew north to the north bank of Hunhe River. Nuerhachi was depressed because of this. Someone came to report that a phoenix had fallen in the Woods near his home. Nurhachi hurriedly took the ministers to watch. As soon as he approached, Phoenix suddenly took off and flew directly to Shenyang. Nurhachi knew that the phoenix never falls without treasure, so he invited Mr. Feng Shui to visit Shenyang and found that Shenyang was really a treasure land of Longxing. He immediately made up his mind to move the capital to Shenyang.
