In ancient Guangdong, Chaoshan talents came forth in large numbers. Who is the most famous?

There is no doubt that all these have obvious Chaoshan marks, but four ancient celebrities, Lu Dong, Daxin, Lin and Zhou Guanghao, are important historical and cultural traces of Chaoshan.

Lu Dong, an unknown scholar in the Northern Song Dynasty, was born in Haiyang (now Chaozhou City, Guangdong Province). Although the history of Song Dynasty didn't leave much paper for Lu Dong, his name was recorded in Chaozhou Fuzhi in his hometown and Guangdong Tongzhi in Daoguang period of Qing Dynasty. As for his record, the most unified and striking thing is Lv Dong's talent.

Lin, a respected national sage, was once commented by the Qing people: "The next generation, Chaozhou is full of talents, enough to cross Zhongzhou and add color to the mountains and rivers." These talents include the only champion in Chaozhou Prefecture in the Ming Dynasty, and Lin, who is famous abroad.

King Daxin, also known as Zheng Xin, was the founding monarch of the Wuli Dynasty in Thailand. Marsh stayed in Thailand all his life and left a deep impression on Thai history. But Marsh's father Yongzheng is from chaozhou people, Guangdong. After working hard in Thailand when he was young, Yongzheng fell in love with a Thai woman, Luo Yang, and gave birth to Marsh. So in terms of native place, Marsh is still chaozhou people.

In the 24th year of Wanli (1596), Zhou Guanghao resigned and returned to his hometown. Like Lv Dong and Lin, he participated in public welfare activities in his hometown to promote the development of education in his hometown. In fact, building a hometown after retirement is the choice of many Chaoshan literati since the Song and Ming Dynasties. It is because of their efforts that a cultural treasure house has been formed in this fertile land of Lingnan, and today's Chaoshan is still full of excellent traditional culture.

The history and culture of Chaoshan can be traced back to the history of primitive indigenous culture in the pre-Qin period, which is as long as the culture of the Central Plains.
