The author of Yi Zhuan thinks that gossip mainly symbolizes eight natural phenomena: heaven, earth, thunder, wind, water, fire and mountains and rivers, and each letter symbolizes many things. He also believes that the two hexagrams "Gan" and "Kun" occupy a particularly important position in the Eight Diagrams and are the source of all phenomena in nature and human society.

But now "gossip" refers to people who like to spread gossip and talk nonsense about the relationship between others.
