2. Brief introduction of former residence

In the 24th year of Guangxu (1898), Liu Shaoqi was born in a family in Tanzichong Village, Huaminglou Town. This is a typical farmhouse. Liu Shaoqi's former residence is a quadrangle with civil structure. There is a pond in front of the house, surrounded by Woods.

There are more than 30 thatched roofs in the yard. In addition to the living room, many of them are farm tools rooms, pigsty rooms, fire rooms and children's study rooms. There is also a Liu Shaoqi Memorial Hall in Beichongweitang, 500 meters away from the former residence. More than 800 cultural relics are displayed in the hall, including books read by Liu Shaoqi and some daily necessities.

President Liu Shaoqi is the second great man born in contemporary Hunan. Guangxu twenty-four years (1898) was born in Tanzichong Village, Huaminglou Town, Ningxiang County, a proletarian revolutionary, politician and theorist. He is an outstanding party and country, and a founding father. 1959 and 1965 were elected presidents. Ningxiang is under the jurisdiction of Changsha. The former residence of President Liu Shaoqi in Tanzichong Village of Huaminglou Town is located about 30 kilometers south of Ningxiang, only 50 kilometers from Changsha to Shaoshanchong.
