Is there a sea in Kunming?

There is no sea in Kunming, but there is a freshwater lake called Dianchi Lake.

Dianchi Lake, also known as Kunming Lake, Kunming Pool, South Yunnan Ze and Yunnan Sea. In the southwest of Kunming, there are rivers such as Panlong River. Lake elevation 1886 meters, covering an area of 330 square kilometers. It is the largest freshwater lake in Yunnan Province and is known as the Pearl of the Plateau. The average water depth is 5m, and the deepest part is11m. The lake is discharged from the southwest Haikou and named Tanglangchuan, which is the source of Pudu River, a tributary of Jinsha River, the main stream of the upper Yangtze River.

The main water source, Panlong River, comes from the Huanglongtan underground river in Liangwangshan (also known as Dongge Mountain) in the northwest of Songming County, flows through Muyang Street and joins Shaodian River in Shaodian Village. It's called Panlong River. In many valleys, when it arrived in songhua dam, the terrain suddenly became clear, and it branched into rivers such as Jinzhi and Tong Ming, which flowed into Dianchi Lake. The water in Dianchi Lake flows through the calm Mantichuan River and Pudu River, and then flows into Jinsha River at the junction of Dongchuan and Luquan.

Dianchi Lake Basin is located in the middle of Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau, the watershed of Yangtze River, Pearl River and Red River, with a basin area of 2,920 square kilometers. There are more than 20 rivers flowing into Dianchi Lake, of which Panlong River is the largest, besides Chaihe River, Jinzhi River, Mario River, Kunyang River, Haiyuan River, Baoxiang River, Dongdahe River, Wangliang River, Chenggong River and Xibaisha River.
