The first article of Virtue Classic kicks The Analects of Confucius and The Book of Changes (although Laozi's time was earlier than these two books): too much emphasis on benevolence and righteousness is due to the lack of morality; Too many rituals are due to the lack of benevolence and righteousness; On the surface, the art of telling fortune to ghosts and gods seems to be a mode of monasticism, but in fact it is the beginning of spiritual degeneration. Recently, I saw a similar sentence pattern in Quanyou: When love is gone, only responsibility remains. There is no right or wrong in these things.

39. The sky is high and the clouds are light, the ground is flat, the gods are full, and everything is animistic. The princes think that the world is right. . .

Only then do we know how important "one" is, and we must be unique, supreme, unique and do one. . . Saints of all ages know this "one" because it represents a peak experience. Laozi described it this way: the sky is pure, the earth is flat, the boundary of God is an epiphany, the boundary of things is a rich vitality, and the emperor will call it a peaceful and prosperous time. . . The state of "winning one" is all kinds of natural peace, not "bigger, faster" or "higher, faster and stronger"

40. Opposition, the movement of Tao; The weak, use the Tao.

Qing is the behavior of Tao; Recognizing cowardice is the application of Tao.

This passage is the simplest Genesis: Tao is the universality of the universe, and the so-called "one" is to produce two levels of yin and yang from this universality, and the two levels of yin and yang interact to form and merge, and everything and people are born from this. Changing Tao to another name is a more complicated version of Genesis.

43. The world is the softest and the strongest.

Such as water, soft and inaction, but invincible.

44. Knowing enough is not humiliating, knowing it is not dangerous.

The two most important principles of keeping healthy are contentment and Zhi Zhi. People can't do it. Most of the time, they forget that they need to stay awake.

45. Silence is right for the world.

Cleanliness can make your existence a blessing rather than a burden. This is what Shen Xiu meant by "always wiping".

46. There is a proverb in the world that this is a slap in the face; There is no way in the world, and the suburbs have horses. . .

Usually, swift horse has no eggs, so it has to carry chemical fertilizer. In wartime, pregnant mares have to go to war. I would rather waste my skills than let a charger be born in the suburbs.

47. Know the world without leaving home; Look at heaven without peeking. It is far away, but it knows very little. It is based on the fact that saints can't do it, but they can't see it and can't do it.

Laozi's time was three thousand years ago. At that time, only saints could know the world without leaving home. Now ordinary netizens can do it easily with their mobile phones. With the progress of science and technology, do saints keep pace with the times? Understand the world from the perspective of science and technology, connect with the world with science and technology, and see the Tao with science and technology. . . I have read a lot of science fiction novels recently, and I feel that people like Laozi exist in every era, and I feel that there is a modern version of Laozi swimming in front of me.

48. Learning is becoming more and more important, and the road is getting harder and harder. Loss and loss lead to inaction. Do nothing. Do nothing. Take the world by storm, it is often nothing, take the world by storm.

Subtraction is a meditation class. Not only can a restless heart not win the world, but even a small life is unstable.

49. Sages are often careless and take people's hearts as their heart. Ok, I am good; If you are not good, I am good, Xianhui. Believers, I believe; If you don't believe, I will believe, and I will believe. Sages are in the world and indifferent to the world. People pay attention to all directions and listen to all directions, and saints are also children.

Saints are not selfish, "aiming at the people's desire for a better life." Treat people like parents coax their children, don't judge their right or wrong. Let everyone be ignorant and simple, and society will be more harmonious.

50. If Gai Wenshan were alive, he wouldn't meet a tiger on the road and join the army. There is nothing to throw at its horns, the tiger has nothing to use its claws, and the soldiers have no place to put its blade. Honey, why? No death.

People who are good at taking pictures may look sloppy on the outside, but they are diligent on the inside. They know how to overcome their weaknesses and won't get hurt even in dangerous places.

5 1. The respect of Tao, the value of virtue, and the life of husband are natural.

Tao educates all things and moral education all things. Morality itself does not dictate everything by virtue, but only conforms to nature.

52. The world has a beginning, thinking that the world is the mother. Mother knows son; Knowing his son, he defended his mother. No one is not dangerous. Block the exchange, close the door, and be diligent for life; Open an exchange, help it, and never save it. Seeing Xiao Yue's "bright", Shou Rou said "strong". Use its light to return to its brightness, without physical harm. It stands for "attack routine"

This paragraph can be used as an exercise guide: first of all, we should understand the root of ourselves and everything (the so-called "seeing nature" of the six ancestors) and hold on to this root. How to raise it? Is to shut your mouth and shut the door of desire. The energy of life is not for the uncertain desire to come and go, but for gaining insight and surrendering yourself. Laozi mentioned "using its light", which should be a spiritual force that can make people conform to heaven. "attacking the norm" means following common sense, which is the basis for restoring life. As mentioned in the previous paragraph 16, it is clear to know what is common, and it is reckless not to know what is common.

53. This road is narrow, but it is easy for people to pass. . . Except for North Korea, the field battle was awkward and the warehouse was empty. Serving literary talent, carrying a sword, tired of eating and drinking, and having more money and goods, all for stealing and boasting. Non-Dao also!

At that time, taking a crooked road was a luxury, so I was brave and ruthless. Today's street hooligans can be as awesome as ancient princes and princes. Evil ways are also advancing with the times.

In fact, it is difficult to distinguish good from evil in many things. For example, those rock stars are not only scum who take drugs indiscriminately, but also a freedom fighter, the creator of human inspiration. Between good and evil, you can't carve a boat for a sword. In a passage below the Tao Te Ching, it is also said: "It is strange to seek the right, and it is evil to seek the good."

54.? The virtue of practicing in the body is true; Repairing at home has more virtues; The virtues cultivated in the countryside are long-lasting; If cultivated in the state, its virtue is rich; It is a virtue to cultivate it in the world.

It is in the same strain as Confucianism's "self-cultivation, governing the country and calming the world". Confucianism and Taoism are the same.

Chastity is thicker than nakedness. Poisonous insects don't sting, wild animals don't catch, and birds don't fight. The weak bones are soft and firm, and the combination of the unknown and the unknown is perfect. All day, the number is not awkward, but also harmonious. Know what you say, and know what you say. Life is auspicious, and the heart makes the gas stronger.

How to measure the effectiveness of monasticism? It depends on whether the wood has returned to the baby state: the bones and muscles should not be stiff, but flexible, the circulation of hands, feet and limbs should be smooth, the fist should be firm, and it should not be soft and lax. All kinds of hormones (so-called "Yang Qi") are inexhaustible, and their voices are loud but not dry. The spirit is in a state of "harmony", and breathing and consciousness are naturally coordinated. Yoga postures and pranayama.

56. It is called "Xuan Tong" to plug its exchange, close its doors, discourage its spirit, resolve its disputes and melt its dust.

The founder of Taoism is a master of muddling along. No wonder there are many glib people under the door.

57. I did nothing, but the people started from scratch; I am so quiet that the people are self-righteous; I have nothing to do and the people are rich; I have no desire, but the people are simple.

In Lao Tzu's ideal country, the rulers are quiet, the common people are stupid birds, the world is peaceful and rich, everyone lives and works in peace and contentment, and no one needs to be a martyr. The same is true of Peach Blossom Garden.

58. Misfortune is a blessing; Happiness lies in misfortune. Who knows its extremes? There's nothing wrong with that. The recovery is amazing, and it is the demon that recovers well.

Don't look at the fortune, the change may be in an instant.

59. It's better to be stingy than to be stingy.

People are rare, and body, mind and spirit are precious resources, so we must use them sparingly.

60. To run a big country, if you cook something fresh.

A good cook knows how to cook, instead of turning the fish over and over easily. By the same token, governing the country cannot be repeated and changed.

6 1. A big country is a pollution, and the world is a friend.

Big countries live in the lower reaches, gathering small countries like big rivers accommodate small rivers. This relationship between big and small countries may only exist in ideals, and most of human history is the law of the jungle.

62. So it's better to sit like this, although there is an arch wall to wait for the horse first. What was the reason why it was so expensive in ancient times? Don't say: if you can get it, sin is inevitable? Therefore, you are the world.

Wealth cannot be one foot higher than cultivation and Taoism. He who seeks wealth in the name of monasticism is a demon who climbs a foot.

63. If the world is difficult, it will be easy; Great things in the world must be done in the details. Therefore, a saint is not great after all, so he can become great.

If you can tidy up a room, you can tidy up the world. If you can settle your heart, you can settle the heart of the world. Start with small things, start with yourself.

64. If you don't, you won't be treated indiscriminately. Broken wood is born in the end; Nine-story platform, starting with tired soil; A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. People's sense of participation is often defeated by several achievements. If you are careful to the end, you will never fail.

From the beginning to the end, perseverance and the accumulation of small efforts can achieve great charity.

65. People are difficult to treat because of their wisdom. Therefore, governing the country with wisdom is a thief of the country; Governing the country without wisdom is the blessing of the country.

Laozi's original intention is to let the rulers and ordinary people return to simplicity, and the country can be harmonious and prosperous without too much governance. This is better than everyone being cunning, basking in strength and fighting endlessly. Unfortunately, this article was misunderstood by later generations as an ignorant policy.

66. Jianghai can be the king of all the valleys, just because of his kindness. . . There is no dispute, so the world cannot compete with it.

The king of an ideal country, like the bottom of the sea, accommodates rivers and becomes the master of all the valleys. Gentleman's words, humility, always put the interests of the people before their own interests, will be loved. Because he doesn't fight for himself, no one in the world can fight with him.

This kind of ideal country has been seen in virtual worlds (such as WeChat group). A good group owner is like a good king, tolerant and clean. Occasionally, bad guys make trouble in the group, and the group owner is responsible for kicking them out. Leading a country, a company and a family with the mentality of a group owner.

67. I have three treasures, which I hold and protect: one is kindness, the other is thrift, and the third is not daring to be the first in the world. Kind, so you can be brave; Thrift, so it can be wide; You can only succeed if you dare not be the number one in the world.

Kindness, simplicity and cowardice are the three treasures of Laozi. Kindness makes people fearless, simplicity makes people broad-minded. These two things are not difficult to understand, but I think this is Lao Tzu's tactfulness and the uniqueness of oriental thought.

68. People who are good at learning are not martial; A good soldier is not angry; Those who are good at defeating the enemy do not cooperate; Those who make good use of people do it.

Leadership is not by force; Can't fight by temper; Success cannot be achieved by brute force; People should lower themselves.

69. So the resistance to soldiers is similar, and those who mourn win.

The sorrowful soldier wins, and the mentality of the victim is more effective than that of the aggressor. If you are good, don't start a war casually.

70. The saints are Brown and Huai Yu.

The sober people and sages of the past have been forgotten.

7 1. I don't know, it's still awkward; I don't know. I'm sick. A saint is not sick, but because he is sick. My husband is just sick, so he is not sick.

This passage is really hard to listen to. In fact, the truth is not difficult to understand: it is good to know your ignorance. If you don't know your ignorance and are self-righteous, you will be in trouble. A saint doesn't make trouble because he knows it's not good to make trouble. Only by taking troubles seriously and dealing with them seriously can we avoid them.

For example, in the matter of monasticism, only when you know that you are ignorant will you try to learn. Pretend you know everything, so that you can be a teacher, then you are in trouble.

72. A saint knows he can't see himself, and self-love is not expensive.

The survival way of saints in troubled times: self-knowledge and self-love, not showing off and being self-righteous everywhere.

73. Dare to kill and dare to live.

Dear, I dare not need courage.

74. I hope the master won't hurt his hand.

Let heaven punish the wicked, don't overstep, or you will hurt yourself.

75. A husband who is not a student is a moral man.

Indifferent and clean, less enterprising, less enterprising. A simple life saves a lot of trouble.

76. People are born weak and die strong; The life of vegetation is soft and brittle, and it dies and withers. Therefore, the strong die and the weak live. It is the power of the army that destroys it, and the power of wood will be folded. Strong place, weak place.

Excessive pursuit of strength is tantamount to death, while weakness is vitality.

77. Heaven, the damage is more than enough; People's ways are different, and the loss is not enough to serve. Who can serve the world? Only Tao.

Matthew effect. Human nature is a reactionary nature, and saints are a reactionary nature.

78. The weak wins the strong, the soft wins the strong, and the world knows everything.

Wang Yangming said that the unity of knowledge and action is true knowledge.

79. If you have big complaints, you will have more complaints. If you return good for evil, do you think it is good?

Confucius also said something similar. Or, how about "good for evil"? Confucius said: if you have a complaint, you will repay it with kindness. We should not confuse fairness with justice.

80. Willing to eat, to be beautiful, to be safe, and to enjoy customs. When neighboring countries confront each other, the voices of chickens and dogs are endless, and the people die of old age.

When the Tao Te Ching came to an end, Lao Tzu put forward a small and beautiful ideal lifestyle: having fun, having fun, keeping a proper distance between people, family and country, but not disturbing each other.

8 1. Good words are not beautiful, and no one believes them. Good people don't argue, and debaters are not good. Those who know don't know, those who know don't know. Sages do not accumulate, thinking that there are many people; Since I'm with someone else, the more I have. Heaven is beneficial but not harmful; The way of a saint is indisputable.

Several positive propositions and negative propositions all emphasize "the way of saints, doing without arguing."

After reading this, I heard Laozi say on the cloud, "Just do it and don't spit it out."
